    One of those days where you recall exactly where you were.  The genius of the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo program to sequentially make that happen is a testament to what this country could accomplish while in the middle of the political rancor surrounding the Vietnam War.

    I remember staying up until after midnight to see it.  That was quite a feat for a 6 year old.

    I remember getting to eat tv dinners in front of the black and white tv for rocket stuff, I just don't remember any distinct events other than a launch.

    Flew to Florida to watch it launch. 
    That was the only rocket I've ever seen launch. After that there just didn't seem to be any reason to bother seeing another one.

    @Corv - What a great experience.  Best flight call you ever made.  
    I cannot imagine the emotions throughout the entire mission.  For me getting there was less than half the challenge.  Getting them off the surface and to the rendezvous was the defining moment when you felt confident that they were coming home!
    Take about ice water in their veins.
