There has been a good deal of prep work going on with the forum today. Perhaps this Friday PM will surprise in a positive manner. One can hope!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Spending my Friday on YouTube University figuring out why the dishwasher won’t drain. Thing I’ve got it fixed. Running a test load now. Fingers crossedLas Vegas, NV

just ditched an egging. D*mn annoyed.
This was going to be a multi stage burn with timings all laid out in advance, started prepping 2 hours early. start with roasted vegetables and poppers indirect. then switch to direct for roasted corn and taco fillings. using the rehydrated corn smut for the first time - so there is that into the mix.
cream cheese for the popper was moldy in the centre. gee thanks for that.
id10T neighbour decides to use a leaf blower on all his furniture. started when I went out to light the egg.
whizzz pause whizz pause whizz pause whizzz pause whizz pause whizz pause while I was out there next to him.
Radio had stupid jazz on. I like jazz, most kinds. but random honks and squeeks do not music make. It's a sound, but even a tone poem has a moderation of tune.
turned on the streamer - decided to not work, power supply dead, but the error showed up as unable to connect to the media server - not good. checked the media server, all is good there, so I extracted the streamer from the audio shelves to discover the dead power supply.
meanwhile the charcoal in the egg has decided to barf out nothing but smoke for 45 minutes and not get higher than 250 for most of that.
neighbour has switched to power washing.
finally got the egg up to 350, put in the plate setter and got it up to 400F.
neighbout is back to the blower. He finished by doing the street for a while with the blower.
got the poppers and vegetables in at 400, all was good until the temperature shot up to 500 and nothing I could do would bring it down. poppers started to burn up, while the vegetables on the grill stayed raw.
just a sh!t storm. I closed all the vents and moved everything into the kitchen. Was really looking forward to this taco meal, it was supposed to be Tuesday but I got sick.
rant off.
oh - and I was going to grill peaches for dessert. Damn, this was a meal that went south.

my whirlpool DW did similar when it got too sudsy. the pump wouldn't get the water out and the overflow tray filled. All the DW would do is error out. Manual said that self installers should dissasemble the tray, remove the sensor, dump the tray and reassemble. Professional installers (and I kid you not) were instructed in the manual to call the service centre. hmph. Youtube university saved my butt and the DW lived to clean another day.Battleborn said:Spending my Friday on YouTube University figuring out why the dishwasher won’t drain. Thing I’ve got it fixed. Turned out to be a clogged air gap on the counter and probably some clogs before the garbage disposal. Drain pump is working fine. Ran one cycle empty and now another with a cleaner. It’s draining, so we live to see another day.zaphod said:

and to top off Friday, just before heading upstairs, I got an email alert from our new Enterprise storage system about a suspected Ransomware event happening. Made better by the fact that the storage company's support window was in a "scheduled maintenance" and could not generate a support case, a ticket or much of anything.
Turned out to be a false positive, but was the perfect stress event to end the evening.~~

Two days ago I was messing with my Chrome profile and pictures started showing up compressed. Thought it was just me, should have asked. Feel real stupid now, wasted hours trying to fix it, eventually gave up and switched to Firefox, no problem with FF.canuckland

Today was a good day. I was overdue on getting my lawn mowed, the weather said we'd get some showers towards the evening, so I kept doing my morning things but noticed it was getting dark outside. Decided to start mowing, and the first three raindrops hit my arm as I was putting the mower away, yes! It's rained steadily ever since, and now it's pouring with plenty of thunder/lightning (which I usually don't get here).
The weather lady said tomorrow will be constant rain and a 30º drop, so I'm good with the world. The little things."First method of estimating the intelligence of a ruler is to look at the men he has around him."
