Not slow for me! Officially my last day as an A&M faculty member. Turned in my keys and laptop and have never felt more alive. Rain caused my BGE celebration dinner to move
inside. Regardless had some of my fave (inexpensive) California bubbly and scallops and lobster tail over scalloped potatoes to celebrate. -
Congratulations, @BeanHead. That’s a great milestone worth celebrating in style, which you appear to have well in hand! Dinner looks phenomenal - no surprises there. Enjoy!

Grilled some corn and made an elote salad. Also grilled up some marinated flap meat. Makes a great taco.Las Vegas, NV -

Made vegetarian chili - pretty tasty. Used a chili paste from the middle eastern store to boost it some. The proprietor looked at me and laughed and said you must be from North Africa? When I said no, never tried it, but wanted to give it a shot, he laughed and said okay. We chatted about how he used to eat it in tuna fish with bread and olive oil, but be careful it’s very hot! I thanked him for his advice and still got it. The flavor was phenomenal and the burn perfect. Built up relatively quickly, plateau for about 5 minutes, then gently settled down (that was a teaspoon eaten straight). Really liked it and added 3/4 of the can to the chili. Great flavor and gentle burn at the end of the bite. This will become a staple.

Call it a form of peaceful protest from patriots (I wish that word hadn't been so terribly polluted in recent years) who reject rather than swallow whole, a group of criminals who have conned their followers with performative religious bullshite, artificial fear and played to the base feelings of racism and hate.
