RIP, my old egger buddy Bordelo Bob

Only eggers from the old forum will even know who I am posting about.

Bob was a carpenter by trade and was a kind, but EXTREMELY shy, quiet egger out there in AZ.

He owned several eggs and gave away a lot of pork butts he had egged and then also gave away his BGEs in the end one by one to those folks who he had helped and who had helped him.

In the end Bob also gave away his body for sake of medical research.

Sorry to hear about this. Bordello was one of the real old-timers. He never had any trouble surrounding himself with beautiful young women.....!!

bob was truly a nice guy, i think the forum switch from old to this one scared him off years ago. was too bad

IIRC he was still posting regularly even when greeneggers was winding down, probably the last one standing.

So sorry to hear this news, Ron.  Last week I had an email from him, he was checking on me! I responded and never heard back.

He was always in touch when he heard about storms/hurricanes hitting near me. What a nice guy.

To Ron and the rest of the Old Timers:

When a friend passes, it causes us to take a moment, and look inside. Times such as these, losing a friend, should be celebrated, for our good fortune. The good fortune to know your life was touched by a very kind man, and the good fortune to have your health to testify. 

He brought everyone together, which proved this forum unique to those that knew this man, and those like me, who did not. 

I am fortunate to learn of a very kind soul only by his passing. Due to this most unfortunate news, I feel blessed to learn of this man. 

My condolences to those who did know him.

Just checking in with you to see how you & Mrs Pat are doing, I have been busy with rent, banking and such. It's been a real pain in the arse if you know what I mean.

I am SO HAPPY to hear from him that my embarrassment over assuming he had died is paled. Since Bob does not participate on this forum I sent him a link to this thread.

I did not mean to deceive anyone about reporting Bob death. I know other factors which I did not reveal which led me to my assumption. I had even sent him numerous emails which were not answered, which in itself was unusual.

I apologize to him and to this forum - I was acting in good faith.

We do need some kind of "buddy system" here so that when someone actually dies, the buddy can let the rest of the forum know.  That way people won't assume someone has passed, when they could just be pissed off at the Buffalo or the LACK OF MOBILE WTF.  

Of course this means that said buddies can't ever get into the same plane, train, or auto together, but that should be manageable.

The good old days of the original forum. For what it's worth, I've kept copies of almost everything I posted over the course of the 20+ years of being on here. I once wrote an Easter Bonnet story that was reposted on here every Easter for years, and Stike turned it into an online animated story.
