Only eggers from the old forum will even know who I am posting about.

Bob was a carpenter by trade and was a kind, but EXTREMELY shy, quiet egger out there in AZ.

He owned several eggs and gave away a lot of pork butts he had egged and then also gave away his BGEs in the end one by one to those folks who he had helped and who had helped him.

In the end Bob also gave away his body for sake of medical research.

Rest In Peace, MY BUDDY Robert Beecher!

Always talked about the temperature, may he rest in peace in a climate of his liking and never worry about his appetite.  Could always count on him being on the old forum.

Sorry to hear that, Ron, but thank you for letting us know.  Is there an obituary online somewhere?

Searched and stumpled upon this thread. Good/interesting read for new folks not familiar with the original egg forum.

    OH BOY...

What if you were able to attend your own funeral?

According to a widely-repeated legend, one major American newspaper actually printed Mark Twain's obituary and, when Twain was told about this by a reporter, he quipped: “The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.

This morning I received this email from Bob...

Just checking in with you to see how you & Mrs Pat are doing, I have been busy with rent, banking and such. It's been a real pain in the arse if you know what I mean.

I am SO HAPPY to hear from him that my embarrassment over assuming he had died is paled. Since Bob does not participate on this forum I sent him a link to this thread.

I did not mean to deceive anyone about reporting Bob death. I know other factors which I did not reveal which led me to my assumption. I had even sent him numerous emails which were not answered, which in itself was unusual.

I apologize to him and to this forum - I was acting in good faith.

The good old days of the original forum. For what it's worth, I've kept copies of almost everything I posted over the course of the 20+ years of being on here. I once wrote an Easter Bonnet story that was reposted on here every Easter for years, and Stike turned it into an online animated story. If you search for StumpBaby across the original forums url adder, you can still find a lot of content that I wrote. I miss the old forum ..

All is well the ends well, or in this case, didn't actually end.  When death is involved, not actually being dead is a great outcome.

Don't tell your problems to people.  80% of people don't care and 20% are glad you have them.
