I feel like any of us could wake up.dead at any point in time. Heart attack, vicious saber toothed crotch crickets attack, California hot tub rectal gonorrhea, and of course the ubiquitous infected butt warble. I hope when I die it's a heart attack and everything south of the border can be donated to science. I always thought someone should study my nether regions. I just haven't found anybody interested in it to date.

I have one objective and that is to die before my kids.
I have one wish-"Here today and then gone today." Would that I am so lucky.

Great to hear all is temporarily good, hospice not so good, while this last time to say goodbye, you all should do a post some cooks to honor him …

We do need some kind of "buddy system" here so that when someone actually dies, the buddy can let the rest of the forum know.
The whole damn interwebz needs something like that; I still get a "Wish XXX a happy birthday! today" on facebook, for three friends who are gone, one for over ten years.

@JohnInCarolina if the one on the way out can let his/her buddy know, then a forum post likely would not be out of reach...
Just thinkin...connectivity is connectivity although the trusted agent would be an easier sell through if SWMBO was assigned the task of notifying only one person and thus not given the keys to the BGE Forum Kingdom.

I have noticed a strange fascination on the forum with being the first to post about a celeb passing.  Sometimes we even see posts from two people at the same time.  It has reminded me of the news outlets rushing headlines onto their banner without a story, or the race to call an election win.  Not judging, just observing.  Death sometimes does weird things to us.
    Love you bro!

I rush to post celeb deaths.  For no other reason than I have no real friends to share with.

Just the mention of Bob's name brings back so many memories of his posts which I always found humorous as well as enlightening.

When my dad had congestive heart failure and eventually needed assisted living, I quickly learned about the awesome level of care that hospice provides.  Dad “graduated” from hospice several times.   I kept an eye on his heart’s ejection fraction. As soon as it went under a certain defined % that met the hospice pre-requisite, I requested that he be re-admitted into hospice care.  This meant he had a lot more pairs of smart, caring eyes on him while I was at work than the assisted living center provided.

Bringing this up because… the good news is that if your buddy is in hospice care, he’s probably getting excellent care, both emotionally and physically.
