NYE cooks?

What’s everyone got planned for tonight?

Smoked and braised beef short ribs here, served over garlic and rosemary mashed potatoes.  We’re having some family friends in the neighborhood over.  Dinner here then moving to their house down the road for dessert.

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone!

I’m making chili with the leftover rib roast from Christmas. I can’t taste schitt (Rona) so this should be interesting.

Driving home, so dinner will be door dashed or picked up.  Other supplies for tonight were purchased at the NH Liquor Store.

Tomorrow will probably be grilled pork chops, black eyed peas, and whatever greens are available and still look good at the grocery store tomorrow AM.

@Calbbqer I see you boated your brisket! How does cook time compare with wrapping? Does it take a little longer that way?

Tonight, unsure. Was thinking stone crab but my sources are out.

We’ll eat an early dinner then head 3 houses down to a neighbors house for a party.

Tomorrow I’ll make duck and andouille gumbo from the duck I smoked on my egg last weekend.

I was trying to figure out something clever (as this pic conjures up various thoughts) but I’ll leave it as looks amazing

No cooking, aside from experiments.  We order a charcuterie platter from a friend, and just eat that. It has become a tradition in our house.

Well, we are going to go out, but daughter and SiL decided to stay so we're cooking.  Store had crap steaks, so now doing short ribs as quickly as I can.  Found a couple of instant pot recipes and mashed them up a little.  Ribs are now swimming for 45 min or so. It felt like a cooking competition getting it all going quickly.  Made a mess.
    Love you bro!
