I am an advocate of the group that agrees to disagree, Beauty of America IMO. But forgiving $10k student loans sends a bad message.Growing up I absolutely busted my butt to save $ for college and fortunately my parents paid half so I came out with no debt. Granted I never ate a 1* meal nor had fun…but I got a great degree and knowledge which has given us a nice life. With this my wife and I made sure to save plenty for our kids’ college (we sacrificed plenty to do so). Will we get repaid ($10k) for saving so they don’t incur dept-nope.I’m sure there are plenty that feel contrary to this but what message does this send to our youth? Run up debt and the gov’t will bail you out? Go to school for 5yrs bc the bank is open and get a worthless degree (I have examples
of this) bc the govt will bail you out?I’m at a loss guys. So many of you support the left, which is your choice (for matters other than this rant), but when it comes
to topics like this I just get damn frustrated.I know this was blocked recently but it’s not dead.LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas -

Wages have not increased 5x add in Pretoria lending to people we won’t let buy beef or cigarettes legally and what do you expect. Costs of tuition have out paced most people’s means to pay for it, even if they bust their butt and work through school. No everyone has parents to pay for half, or that an afford half of that. It’s still 2x what it was 15 years ago. Meanwhile our minimum wage is still the same. And you can’t say minimum wage jobs aren’t for say a college student trying to better themselves because that is what they are doing and it is just too expensive.I have no problem with people getting relief from these horrible loans to try to better themeselves and our society as a whole.Anyways, so some lender that will still make a lot of money of remaining balances and interest can’t afford 10 grand per loan when they thought it was a good idea to loan the money in the first place. It’s not like the govt is paying the money, they are just saying don’t worry about it. Maybe this is the message these predatory lenders need to stop the nonsense. I doubt it but something has to be done. -

After all, why should the govt subsidize a homeowner while renters get bupkis?Good for you for standing strong against communism/socialism/whateverism!!“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. i bought a boat, when do i get my 10 grandfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
one of my ballot questions was to raise taxes on those making an income of a million or more by 4 percent. tax revenues are capped in this state, im getting a rebate because they took 3 billion dollars over the cap last year. they collected 3 bil too much so raise the taxes.........makes perfect sense.
