Heard about the firing a few days ago but nothing besides the below standard phrase. Read that article earlier today. Given the years of training, the peer evaluations and the vetting process to get there the standard "The Navy said Yaste was relieved of duty “due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command the guided-missile destroyer”" is much more than a photo of four months ago. Tonight's CBS' 60 Minutes is a repeat, an hour-long story interviewing the men and women of the FDNY during the 9-11 attacks. I remember watching it the first time vividly, and it's affecting me exactly the same tonight. Of course, in reality the man was removing geese who had been struck by a vehicle in the road and killed, not walking through a park, and certainly not with the intention of eating them. The man isn’t even Haitian.
