Aprons...NOT OT...and PLEASE, Buffalo, don't bounce my thread!

Some newbies here might think this is a wimpy thread...but over the years I had ruined too many great shirts from grease spatters and "adult beverage" accidents shall we say! So I started wearing aprons and I love staying clean!

I guess I already knew the benefit of aprons since I usually wear one of 3 different leather aprons when working in my shop - where I know they will protect me!

I now have several "manly" BBQ aprons that I regularly wear and wash.

Anybody care to post a picture of your favorite(s)?

No disrespect @RRP .  I expected to see this pic when reading the thread, as it always makes me smile.

Thanks - now for the newbies here please let me explain.  This style apron is what my Father wore for several years when he was a "farrier" in his blacksmith shop in Iowa in the 40's and 50's.

I bought this one and wear it PROUDLY in memory of my Father.

I wish I had some clothes nice enough to deserve some type of apron.

Cool! - not him, nor his apron, nor tattoos…but his black wedding ring! I only recently learned the significance of such black wedding bands. Now with the two of us hitting mile marker 56 in our wedding promises we sure could have “gone black” wedding rings back in 1966 if those style bands had been in vogue!

I have the older green BGE one.   It saved a few shirts over the years.  I especially like it when frying.

When I was a short order cook, way, way back, the apron string when all away around and tied in the front,  not sure why they do not make them like that anymore….   But maybe it was like that back then also, just the string did not have so far to go around  :#

@RRP  congratulations on the 56 years!   That is a major accomplishment you should be proud of.

I have 3.  Two are cloth aprons purchased at the two locations of The Carnivore restaurant - Nairobi and Johannesburg.  One is a leather apron that was gifted by my b-i-l and his wife.  Obviously, the leather one is more protective but I got the others first and they have protected me from a lot of BBQ sauce and grease splatters over the years - and they aren't as hot in the Texas heat.

The basic ones at William-Sonoma are a decent thickness for year-round.  They seem to have many aprons available online, but we just grab one at the store when one needs replaced.

I wear an older T-shirt when I’m lighting my cowboy lump with my weed burner, then change to a crop top once the sparks settle down.

There's no such thing as head gear. Trust me I've been through therapy more times than I can tell you about, and even if I could remember enough to tell you about it, I've been through it, and none of it is something I could tell you about. Plus, even if I remembered it enough to tell you about it, I probably wouldn't even remember if I told you about it ..  so what's the point in telling you about it in the first place? Its the very definition of circular logic. The fact that I got through it is memorable, the process itself is not important.

enjoying this thread, been looking for an apron for a while.    I was hoping King Ranch would put one out but I've never seen one from them.    I'll sit back here until I see something I like.

I'm pretty happy with my Hello Kitty. It replaced my 20 year old worn out Totoro.
