Finally saw 'No time to die'.

Good film but there's no way Mr Brosnan (the ultimate Bond) would have permitted that ending.
His best work was Remington Steele

His best work - before Bond, was Remington Steele  =)

That’s a deep draw there, CT.

Just watched the trailer to Top Gun 2.  Got goosebumps.  Looking forward to this one.

Saw Moonfall today in the theater. Critics didn't like it but I wasn't looking for a film masterpiece just a fun action movie and that certainly was this one.  Some good laughs and lots of amazing CGI

I'm watching MindHunters on Netflix.  It got interesting for me after the second episode .
    That’s a good show.
Did season 3 come out yet?
Don’t think so.  Is there definitely going to be a season 3?
From what I have read, it doesn't sound like there is going to be a third season.  What a shame too.

A show I've heard good things about recently is the new "Reacher" series on Amazon Prime.  As far as I can tell, it's based on Ed's ( @CPFC1905 ) life story.

I finished Reacher this weekend.  It is a little far-fetched at times (like when Reacher breaks a grown-man's legs with his bare hands like a person might snap a pencil in order to accordion the bad-guy's body into the trunk of a car).  But, it is pretty good.

It is funny that the actor playing Reacher is 6'2" and a mountain of a man compared to Tom Cruise at 5'7".

Lee Child (author of the Reacher books) makes a cameo.  See if you can spot him.

We watched it Friday as my wife is a huge fan of the Lee Childs books. She liked the Tom Cruise films but knew that Cruise did not come close to matching the physical characteristics of the Reacher character in the books (which always cracked her up).
I did not realize LC had a cameo in the series (I have no idea what he looks like so it wouldn't have mattered anyway) and I'll mention that to my wife.

Right at the end of Episode 8.  As Reacher is headed into the diner to eat his peach pie.  Pretty cool.

I also love the books.  Very fast paced.  I used to go through a few of them on my trips to China.

I bought the whole (or up to date at the time) Reacher series of books at once on eBay or somewhere.  I read maybe half of them, then just got burned out on the character.   Anyway, the series on Amazon was entertaining.   Kind of similar to the Jack Ryan series, except the Jack Ryan series with John Krasinsky was an order of magnitude better in every way.

Agree about The Jack Ryan series. Hoping Krasinsky is able to appear in a few more seasons.

Not a movie but I recently started watching MeatEater on Netflix. It is neat to see the different locations he travels to.

Similar - I read them while travelling, the formula wears out.   I liked Olen Steinhauers' books - Milo Weaver series and really liked the Ruthenia quintet/series.  His "All the old knives" was just made into a movie.

Yep, Reacher had a good run, then you nailed it...just wore itself out.

The series (not with Tom Cruise, the other one) was on point for the character.

  • I'd forgotten about this thread.

My most recent movies have all been horror movies as that's what our oldest is into.  Here are the trailers - I thought both were pretty disturbing in different ways:

Definitely not for the faint of heart by any stretch.

I can only imagine you probably have to tiptoe around paint cans and such on the home front.

The one that we always reach for is Christmas Vacation. Chevy Chase just hams it up so well.

Christmas Vacation for the family Christmas movie here. I'm a documentary junkie and after a week with the flu I watched a bunch. But if you haven't seen "Train Wreck, Woodstock 1999" its a scene man, what a sh*t show. The title is perfect. "Pepsi Where's my Jet" is worth the watch. "This is a Robbery". "14 Peaks". "River Runner"...all good if you are on the couch with a fever for days on end.
