Urban Disaster

Urban Meyer fired 11 months in. What a mess. I guess going 2-11 while diddling college aged girls in his own bar in Ohio instead of flying home to FL with the team after a loss was not the culture change the Jags were looking for?

Nicely summarized.  Now his wife can divorce him too.  No pretenses to uphold.

for sure. I am always wary of these "leaders of men" types. He has been a half-step ahead of this for years. Taking time off due to "health reasons" only to be miraculously healthy again once things blew over and the next "dream job" appeared. Good Riddance.

I mean, I can't comment on morality in coaching considering a Special Teams coach for Texas had a stripper- monkey that attacked trick-or-treating children on Halloween this year.

  • Credit Fox news: There are stories made for the Internet and then there’s the story of a pet monkey belonging to a stripper, who goes by Pole Assassin, biting a kid on Halloween. Oh, and the Pole Assassin is dating Texas special teams coach Jeff Banks, who reportedly left his wife and kids to be with the Pole Assassin.

@The Cen-Tex Smoker you have sent me on a mission.  I dug this gem up about the emotional support stripper monkey named Gia.

"Gia, was an emotional support animal ...... Gia is reportedly part of Thomas’ pole dancing routines and can give high-fives on command."

Never liked Meyer, mostly because he played the part of the Jesus lovin' charlatan while being a greasy weasel.

I haven't been following, but read this and...my god.

The stripper monkey story is an all timer.

Did anyone really think that Urban in the NFL was going to work out?

yes- and talk about google-roulette: I googled "stripper monkey bites child" to get to the story. Thank god this is what showed up. There is a rich tapestry of comments and memes out there. Dig away.

There is a video of him and a 20-ish y/o female that is uhm....unflattering for a married man (or any 55 year old human). Of course he blamed it all on her being "flirtatious" until the alternate angle video came out.

  • I think you kind of blew it with the title to this one.  Shouldn't you have gone with "Urban Decay" ?

The stripper / monkey story is legit all time, however, so I guess we can give you a pass.  What a time to be alive.

No question. If here were 11-2 instead of 2-11 this would not even be a story.

But the Stripper-Monkey? That's a story no matter what your record is.

Agree.  Big money allows people to rationalize away all sorts of bad behavior.

true, but realistically, if you want to get performance out of professionals, you need their respect and it helps if you're not a laughingstock a-hole.  That said, he also seems to gravitate towards liking/hiring other a-holes.   His whole vibe gives me the creeps.

Denver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio says Meyer told him the NFL is like "facing Alabama every week."

     That’s funny right there!!!!

He got fired because the media found out.  Had the latest which became the tipping point not been aired the club likely would have let it go for the remainder of the season and hope the off-season buried it.
The accumulation of scum behavior was too much and good for the owner to fire him.
