OT - Cutting Boards

Several folks have inquired about buying cutting boards. If you are interested send me a PM and I’ll send some details. I am hanging shoulder surgery Friday so I likely won’t be able to late January at the earliest I’m thinking.

Several folks have asked about an 18 x 24 board. Please do yourself a favor and put an 18 x 24 piece of cardboard on your countertop and see if you actually want one that big. I’m all for making that size, but I’d hate for someone to be discouraged after getting one because it is too large.MMBGE / Large BGE / XL BGE (Craigslist Find) / SF30x80 cabinet trailer - "Ol' Mortimer" / Outdoor kitchen in progress.

When I was making end grain boards, I had several requests for the 18 x 24 boards also. But my plainer would only do 15” widths. After they saw a 15 x 20 board in person, all agreed that was large enough for their counters or island. Some don’t realize how heavy a large board gets, especially with a dense wood like walnut and maple!

Good call John. Carey couldn’t help himself and used his troll account ( IP address comes back to a ISP in New Orleans).
Guess he didn’t realize that cap was a present from my son. My son is Brandon, and a attorney in Wichita KS. He works for the largest law firm in the state, and sent me the cap and shirt for my birthday. It’s a “private” joke between father & son.Carey….chill out…you and your troll look like fools on your post but Carey on! -

Just finished this board from some strips I had made previously. 15 3/4 x 13 7/8 x 1 1/2” - maple, walnut, cherry, and purpleheart.Second photo is after the first coat of food grade mineral oil, many more coats to follow.Asking $200 due to the amount of walnut and purpleheart. A juice groove can be added for $25.
