I bought some Farmland bacon yesterday. $5.99 /lb.  I was used to paying $3.99/lb, but was getting low in freezer.  The new sale flyer came out today (Dillons/Kroeger), and it’s now on sale for $6.99/lb.
    Lets go Brandon!
Because it makes total sense to blame the price of Farmland bacon on the current president.  What else could possibly cause this shift in pricing?  WTF- I feel dumb for you.

I think the made up part is that you sat and didn’t say anything.

We shouldn’t be electing presidents the age of Biden or Trump.

We shouldn’t fall in to the simplistic trap of thinking all credit/all blame falls on sitting president, or worse, we shouldn’t spread that when we know it isn’t that simple.

I agree on the age issue and on the trap of over simplifying.  However, it is not like all this chaos happened in a vacuum without nudging from the party in power.  Policies have real world impacts.  The policies have led to us being a net energy importer again, instead of a net exporter.  Decades of outsourcing and shipping manufacturing over seas has lead to our supply chain issues, as has Americas addiction to consumerism and cheap products.

I did not jump in, or say I told you so, or anything so crass.  I did listen and I asked questions to understand their complete change of heart.  I have learned not to punch after the bell IRL.

Don't tell your problems to people.  80% of people don't care and 20% are glad you have them.

  • I’m planning on moving to Canada or the UK soon, where Biden isn’t President, there are no Democrats, and definitely not any inflation.

UK just has Brexit to contend with.  Canada has the abuse and murder of indigenous peoples to contend with.  Mexico or Venezuela might be the best bet.

Is Biden the president of the whole world because the inflation problem is global.  As are gas prices.

Cancun does seem nice this time of year.  At least, that’s what a friend from Texas told me.

Okay, but just be ready to pay big money for anything BGE.

It would be weird to have Mexican ceramic shipped from the US to Mexico.  Just the cost of having people carry it back over the wall has got to be exorbitant.

I bet the Keystone pipeline that wasn’t set to be completed until next year would have still halved the costs of petrol in Georgia though.  I don’t think you’ve thought this all the way through, my friend.

  • “We’re going to continue to have inflation,” Senator Rick Scott, who chairs the National Republican Senatorial Committee, told The Wall Street Journal earlier this month, “and then interest rates will go up. This is a gold mine for us.”

This is far from the inflation rodeo of the late 1970's -early 80's when interest rates were running in the low double digits.  Given the great majority of the forum participants are young enough to have missed that ride,  you may appreciate why some are not axel-wrapped about this just yet.

  • I don't really hear a lot of people eager to throw a parade for Biden, but when the alternative is someone as corrupt, unethical and narcissistic as Trump I really don't see how there's even a decision to be made. How about we all just agree that both parties will put up a different candidate in the next cycle and then maybe we can move forward.

I think part of the problem is the partisan machines steer support away from any candidate not deemed to have the best chance of beating the other party.  Any candidate from my party is better than anyone from your party.  Blind partisanship is killing us.

edit - Trump broke that mold in the GOP, party leadership didn’t want him but he was able to galvanize support by popularizing anger.

It seems our pool gets worse and worse every cycle.  We no longer vote for someone, we vote against someone.

It is frustrating when you see a reasonable candidate get eliminated in the first few rounds. I am not willing to run for township, county, or any other office though so I guess I’m just along for the ride.

You clearly don’t understand the word corrupt. Please see Hunter Biden laptop. In particular, the parts which clearly outline his fathers grift and decades of corruption. SMH.

Orange guy may have been an ass, but he can’t hold a candle to the professional grifters in DC. That is precisely why they had to get rid of him. Even if it meant a totally made up and corrupt investigation. Derangement is sad.
