Starlink

Anyone using here Starlink? The website says it will be available summer of 2022 in my area. All I need to do is give the richest man in the world a $100 deposit.  Has anyone gone through this process, is 6 months realistic or will delivery deadline go the way of the cyber truck.

The DudeThis is a very complicated case, Maude. You know, a lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-you's. And, uh, lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head. Luckily I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug regimen to keep my mind, you know, limber.

Not sure what the deposit is for either. When it’s available can’t you just sign up?

  • Seems like at one point it was $400-500 fee upfront for equipment but that could have changed.

Its available here and the people I know that have it like it. Equipment is an upfront cost of about $1000CDN then $125/month. You register the units gps coordinates so you can not take it to another address which is the bad part. We are pretty remote and satellite internet is the only option in some spots. I'm not sure of speeds, i can try a speed test next time at at one of these peoples places

Nope, those are radioactive chemtrails.  That is why they usually do not spray at night.

I signed up too John.  Rural Texas at cedar creek lake and could use anything better than 5mbps. Still awaiting greatness. Will be a game changer if it ever happens. Hope all is well is Fredericksburg!

Damn.  Where the hell were you guys when half this forum was posting 87 photos of f**** shaving foam, while the rest of them were hitting "Quote" on the same post?!?  There are STILL about 9 pages of posts in a certain thread that I've never read, because of this foolishness.

Could have been worse.  I was half expecting those posts to devolve into shaving around the star (aka anus).  Thankfully not.

I called them a couple weeks ago, they had me cycle power to the modem and other thing (so of course the phone call ended).  Still got about 2 Mbps that afternoon, but the next morning I was getting 56 Mbps and it's been fine since, think they may have jiggled a cable on their end.
