Did something happen that some of us missed with lit and beanus or was it just a review of previous postings?

I’m a little surprised that no one has tried to help our fallen comrades.

As an infrequent poster I try to avoid the emotional spikes when they happen. Not aware of anything that was posted and deleted so if that happened maybe someone could provide a cleansed recap. Stike/beanus attack on Botch in the food processor thread was a low point / misunderstanding. Lit was often out of bounds as we all know. Pete Sliver was a fake account “Pete’s liver” by an active member as a slander to another active member. While I agree with the action to ban, whether that is ultimately temporary or everlasting is really trivial. Stike and Lit both contributed positively and negatively. What remains that is egregious to me is (1) a ton of troll accounts that still exist and create a carnival environment and (2) any people patting themselves on the back as survivors, the “correct remaining population” or celebratory without admitting their participation in the b.s. In elementary school, everyone throwing punches goes to time out. Offensive comments should be reported and ignored. One of the most comical events to me in any social circle of recent years happened during the zoom period. That was a time frame that I found immensely enjoyable for interacting with people here and many thanks to those who participated. It demonstrated people getting along on zoom instead instead of exchanging flame posts on the forum. Well, at one point there was a theory that one forum member wasn’t showing up much because they may have been impacted health-wise by covid. In reality, that person had been misaligned at least tangentially if not completely with a clique of forum members and their opinions about certain political topics. The complete lack of awareness about how someone could be fed up with the tone created by the clique told me a lot about the current state of affairs with active forum posters. This forum is at its best when all are welcome in the pursuit of enjoying life through community and better cooking and we resist the urge to go down negative paths of division and ideological classification. So maybe a little reflection in that area and a lot of good cooks. Thanks for the read.

Treating others the way you'd like to be treated can go a long ways towards good times. As for those that may be enemies or that you despise, be extra kind to them. That is a surefire way to irritate them.Deal with trolls as you see fit.
