If that was what I got out of the saying, then I have to assume many others did too.  I personally have seen it as more about commentary on gaslighting than Joe Biden.  It is so obvious, I assumed that is why it resonated with so many people and caught on like it did.

I think the truth is a lot simpler, that it caught on because some sports reporter turned an “F Joe Biden” chant from a NASCAR crowd into a “Let’s Go Brandon” one to clean it up for a TV audience.  People who don’t care for Joe Biden (most of them Trump voters, let’s keep it real) found this hilarious, and it was off to the races.  These days it doesn’t take a whole lot more than that.

I mean, lately we have folks stockpiling horse dewormer and climbing on homemade towers of milk crates only to send themselves to the emergency room.  

All things being equal, the dumbest explanation is probably the one that’s true.  Hanlon’s razor and all that.
