Anyone got a seafood au gratin recipe they wouldn't mind sharing??
SWMBO has had a rough week at work so I was thinking about making her some seafood au gratin (probably shrimp and crab) this weekend. I've made it before but I feel it can be better. I can come up with something but figured I’d ask the pros!
I've searched around a bit on the interwebs and haven't found a recipe that jumps out at me.
Thanks fellas!
Thanks fellas!

Haven't made it myself, but that website/blog is legit. I've made some other recipes from there, and enjoyed them.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -

TideEggHead said:Thanks @caliking, that recipe does look good. SWMBO is not a huge fan of rice so I might have to sub in some pasta. Added to the list!#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

@TideEggHead - don't mean to derail your plan, but we do an Asian-style salmon, with garlic noodles, in our regular rotation. Its easy, and delicious. Caliprince fights us for leftovers.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

Look no further. This is a dish that I cooked all the time as it was one of the permanent menu items at the joint I cheffed at. Fear not, it is free from all controversial and strong tasting rice.

TideEggHead said:By no means derailing, I will admit we haven’t done much salmon but I am always up for a good Asian dish! Is this served over the noodles or are those as a side??

We do the salmon in the Insant Pot, but you could easily do it on the egg, or even a toaster oven.
- Take a salmon filet (~1lb), and place in a dish that fits inside the Instant Pot. I have 2 SS pans that fit, so I usually make 2 at a time.
- Add sesame oil 1 TBSP, mirin 2 TBSP, soy sauce 2 TBSP, and maybe chinkiang vinegar 1 tsp (if that's a flavor you dig). Add 2-3 scallions, chopped.
-Pressure cook on low x 4-5mins, depending on how you like the salmon done, then release pressure.
- Spoon the sauce that forms in the pan over the salmon, and serve.
It takes longer to boil the water for the pasta, than it does to cook this meal. Its delicious, and on the table in <30mins.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
This one is off the beaten path. Haven’t tried it. Seems like something @lousubcap might enjoy…..

Never thought of that with pulled pork. I will have to take a detour on my enjoyment of chargrilled and try a couple when I have left over pulled pork.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

caliking said:The noodles are a side, I guess. Made popular by a Vietnamese restaurant in San Francisco, usually served with crab or shrimp. There are a bunch of recipes out there, but I use Chef John's version, because I love that guy. Tip= reserve 2-3 cups of the pasta water, to loosen the sauce as needed.

Thanks @caliking and @nolaegghead I ended up using the coquilles saint Jacques recipe for the most part. Changed up a few things and used shrimp and blue crab meat. Anyhow, the wife said she really liked it so this will be put on the rotation list.Green beans and twice baked potatoes for sides with some garlic bread.LBGE
