Well that is pretty cool!  I would not have thought there was enough atmosphere on Mars to allow that thing to fly.

Early Friday rant:  We can do all that level of exploration and develop the technology to do our bidding on planets and asteroids.  And yet we want to put the human in the loop.  The expense to engineer the humans regarding support and safety features is immense.  Given my $$, from a gubmint perspective there are better uses.
If Elon wants to privately fund the ride, have at it.

We're actually not that far away from having the sort of universal translator that was featured in Star Trek back in the day.  I think pretty soon (within the next 5 years) here I'll be able to hold a Zoom meeting with someone from another country where they'll speak in their language on their side, but what I will hear will be a translation into English on my side, in a voice that's very similar to their own.
