@GrateEggspectations No one got sick with the April batch, touch wood. I'm just worried the foil may have past its best before date. DM me your address and I'll send you a sheet for certification 😂

I’ve not been cooking a lot of interring dishes lately - a lot of moving pieces have kept me busy - these cooks all look amazing and can’t wait to get to some more interesting cooks!

  Okay, it looked a bit better once plated!

The 2 Tbs of honey did burn, but not on the food itself, and green pepper, dill and grape tomatoes made it a better-tasting meal than it originally looked.
Also didn't realize how good artichoke hearts smelled when roasted, the house still smells great.

My local grocer baked these, and I usually don't buy sweets, but they looked good and I'm enjoying them immensely.

JIC’s recipe is fantastic. I make the lady make them a few times during the season. Good reminder that the first batch should be made soon.

Continuing the theme of cookies. Oatmeal cookies with white chips instead of those pesky raisins. The recipe is on the lid of Quaker Oats.

Not me, but my wife is in her holiday dessert era. These peppermint bark rice crispy treats are legit.

@Battleborn Just imagine what she will have worked up to by Christmas Eve.
  • A dozen smoked and grilled chicken thighs rubbed with Meat Church Texas Sugar. Not sure if that sounds more like North Dallas Forty or MTG on The View so take your pick.

Vegetable-based roasts are an interesting thing. Some not much different than a commercial turkey roll (which my Nana served regularly to us) and some are more roast beast like. Some are soy based, and some are gluten/seitan based.  Most all are internally stuffed with vegetables or breading or a combination.

This one is called "The Beast" and it is one of the better out there. I basted this one with a mix of 1/2 cup BGE Kentucky Bourbon thinned with a 1/2 of vegetable sauce.

Tomatillos were roasted beside the baking pan for the beast, to be added to the rice bed. Kudos to @BeanHead (hey, where have you been?) for the hint of just putting the tomatillos onto the grill.

    All in all, pretty tasty.

This pork butt post is pedestrian but for a good cause.  Reheated tomorrow and headed to a cancer survivor pot luck luncheon. (Window of opportunity to smoke some cream cheese.)

    And the finish-

Definitely a winner cook for the greater good.
    Thanks for lookin'.

Cap, that's a tray of goodness, nothing pedestrian about that, love the bark. I've never smoked cream cheese, have to try that.

  • Every time I turn my back on this thread, it explodes with a bunch of stellar cooks. Some great looking plates here.

@lousubcap - I smoked cream cheese only once, I think, maybe eight or so years back anf have been meaning to do it again. So good.

    Who says I can’t multitask?

Surprised to see you out of bed at this hour. Next time you wake up this early, do yourself a favour and throw on a Seinfeld.
