Thanks. Not all HEBs carry the same cuts, so one has to hunt around some times. The picanha was a score.lousubcap said:Yep- HEB continues to deliver when in the correct hands. Freshly baked bagels for breakfast. Lox, cream cheese, purple onion, capers, dill and lemon pepper. Yum!

You made the bagels?!? Nice!!
-
@LetsEat just had breakfast and I'm hungry again. We used to bake bagels too but got lazy the past few years
Did you cure the Lox too? canuckland -
Thank you! I love to bake and everything in our house is always homemade. My bagel recipe is a three day production. I’m baking five dozen this morning: everything topping, cinnamon raisin, blueberry, pumpernickel and plain. What we don’t sample for breakfast will be frozen for Easter brunch.ColbyLang said:You made the bagels?!? Nice!!IL -

@LetsEat you got me at 'three day production', deets please unless it's a secret you can't even share with your kids, lolcanuckland

If you lived on my cul-de-sac I would be more than happy to deliver some! My neighbors love it when I leave bakery bags for their morning coffee.Canugghead said:@LetsEat just had breakfast and I'm hungry again. We used to bake bagels too but got lazy the past few years

I do make gravlax and will serve that for Easter brunch. Because, IMO there can never be too many choices, I will also serve lox and nova!IL -
Sorry, I just saw this. I would be more than happy to share my recipe. It’s nothing complicated, just basic bread making techniques. Let me post it after I complete my bagel bakery marathon.Canugghead said:@LetsEat you got me at 'three day production', deets please unless it's a secret you can't even share with your kids, lolIL -

We like bagels, but can't get decent ones around here. I make lox and gravlax periodically, but don't usually have good bagels to eat it with.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
Had found a single prime ribeye with a “reduced for quick sale” sticker. Enjoyed with cheese grits and roasted purple cauliflower.

What did you use for marinade? Nice work with the CI grid!Large, Medium, MiniMax, 36" Blackstone

Thx. It was a Lawry honey bourbon marinade (rest of what I had left) mixed with apple cider vinegar, orange juice, lemon lime soda, molasses, seasoned salt and pepper. Added in the extra stuff in order to compensate for the half bottle of marinade. Pretty good for improvising.kl8ton said:@Dyal_SC

Spring chicken wings. Dizzy ghost and some sweet sauce for the peeps that do not like the heat.
I drink cheap beer so I can afford good bourbon.
