@fishlessman - the prior door was solid wood and needed the springs for any movement.  One of the springs failed in place (no shattered metal bits flying around).  Replaced the door with a lightweight sandwiched composite door. Good insulation properties and much less demand on any springs.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Can you steam clothes to take out wrinkles?

    Or clothes?

I’m actually kind of surprised you care about shower walls or toilets, lol.

This is great.  I have a slicer and one of the reasons I don’t use it much is because it’s a pain in the tuckus to clean.

Very trivial, I get it, but more Zebra pens.  G-750 is the best pen I’ve ever used.   Have the F-701 and the G-450 and F-301.   I buy the brass series with gel ink and give them away at business meetings, etc.   Something so mundane can make a big impact.

Interesting, I’m not familiar with that brand.  Just added an X-701 to my cart.

Earlier today, I got a set of wet erase pens.  The goal is to use them with laminated Rocketbook pages, we’ll see if it works!

I finally got around to looking into the Rocketbook notebooks.   Thanks for introducing me to this!    I regularly meet with customers/clients make old fashioned notes on traditional notepads, then scan them in so I can always access from my phone.    This would eliminate a step.

Rocketbook has some free sample templates (PDF) that you can print yourself if you want to give it a try before purchasing a notebook.  The pens above are meant to write on laminated templates, I am not sure if they would work in actual RocketBooks.

Absolutely, it seems clear they can be super helpful if you’re ever involved in a crash.  Well, at least assuming you’re not the one at fault…

So, I wasn’t really searching for a new knife, but one kind of crept up on me. I already owned a smaller 210mm size of the Denka No Hoto line (“treasured family sword”), but was so pleased with it that I couldn't resist buying the 240mm as well when presented with the opportunity. Got it brand new for 50% retail (note that one, @Canugghead!). Fujiwara-san also makes a 270mm gyuto in this line and I held it today, but for me, it was almost unwieldy. Hard to imagine needing a sabre of that size in a home kitchen.

The blacksmith has a long, multi-generational history of sword-forging and is getting on in years, so I am happy to pick up what I can at present. There is also currently a very long wait for orders.

Like I’ve said before, nothing brings me more joy in the kitchen than these blades. If you get the chance to pick one up, my recommendation is not to think twice!

(Had to demote a few blades to fit it on there. 🙂)

I like the holder, the magnetic ones where there is metal on blade contact bother me. The wood encased magnetics are so much better.

Yes, totally agree. Who wants metal surfaces scratching finely polished blades?! My wife bought me that holder last year. I wax it a few times a year. Hardly seems big enough, but it is the biggest one KnifeWear.com carries.

Damn, didn’t realize we have two of these threads!

Those knifes are gorgeous!  Funny talking about a knife, measured in teeny-tiny “mm” as being unwieldy.  270mm is like 3 inches or something, according to my US education.
