Never any issues with Tel-Tru analog thermos. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

The back-story on the origin of 4/20:
How did 4/20 start? The origin of the unofficial holiday stems from a plan hatched by a group of San Rafael High School friends in 1971. They decided to meet up after school at 4:20 p.m. to set off and find a marijuana garden in the forest of nearby Point Reyes National Seashore.
And a more detailed story link here-

theres bending them and or leaving them on a table during a blizzard and tossing them into the lake with the snow and a shovel
i replaced one after not having one for 6 or so years. my conclusion is that you dont need one after the first hundred or so cooks, maybe its a zen thing cooking by feel
pretty sure the original kamados didnt have thermos
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
The smokewares are junk imo. Mine didn’t last very long. I have had a Sweetwater on my daily driver (medium) for years now. I wanted to upgrade from an old, questionable 2” BGE thermometer on my XL so I picked up another one. If my memory serves me correctly, they are Tel-tru.Ozzie_Isaac said:

Smokeware came out of the gates strong. Cheap, big, and survived major temp excursions including tossing in snow after wrapping dial around once (1000+ deg).DoubleEgger said:

However, they faded kind of quick, began to absorb moisture, and ultimately failed within a few years.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Labor! Bathroom demo/repair/reno starts after lunch. Complete tear out down to the floor joists, have some sagging that after 100 years needs to be replaced.

@ColbyLang Have fun! We went through that a couple of years ago. I learned that patience is much needed.Midland, TX XLBGE

@ColbyLang - Patience and a bigger wallet as I found when doing our upgrade from a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home to a 2 master suite home. Can't budget well for the unexpected, need to fix right now surprises. Worth it in the end and hope you enjoy your final result. Roof holding up well I hope.Hook_emHornsfan_74 said:@ColbyLang Have fun! We went through that a couple of years ago. I learned that patience is much needed.Ubi panis, ibi patria.

Nothing new to us. We bought this house out of an abandoned estate. Complete gut and remodel. This is just “maintenance” lol. My wig is an interior designer. Therefore there is very little discussion about a budgetHook_emHornsfan_74 said:@ColbyLang Have fun! We went through that a couple of years ago. I learned that patience is much needed. -

Well my Anova has been acting aggressively lately. It was beeping all of the time and not holding temp like a working circulator should. The display temp was bouncing around like a 14 month old puppy. The prop had attacked the neighboring housing causing quite a ruckas in the kitchen.
“I hated that circulator.”
Sometimes hard decisions have to made in the kitchen, so I took ol’ Anny out to gravel pit.Being a responsible circulator owner, I quickly purchased a new circulator that I believe will be trainable and not a threat to life in the kitchen.
