Sticker shock. Took my kids to see the latest Ghostbusters yesterday in the theater. 4 tix plus concessions was just north of $100. No wonder these places are closing

Isn't that about what dinner for four at a basic family place costs?
    Love you bro!

Basically. I was naive and thought a matinee would be cheap

Ah.  Still cheap near me (the matinee ticket) but I think it's limited to just the first show now, not several like it used to be.
    Love you bro!

A factory Ford hardtop for the Bronco. They’re finally available and cheaper than the aftermarket ones

Didn't Ford have a bunch of recalls for their hardtop? I'm hoping they got that all squared away by this point.

They did. And this one will be covered by warranty. Not worried. We were an original order holder with both tops. Get a call 4 months into the wait that if we scrap the hardtop we get the “truck” quicker. So we 86’d it. Ford made offer to buy hardtops exclusively to Gen 1 orders who didn’t get them

More Penzey Spices.  Having a store near my office makes scooping up their specials easy peasey.

$5 for this popcorn seasoning sample box +free cinnamon

like all the literature too, not sure what he is alluding too, but my scruples don’t get in the way of a good deal!

Having been a life long conservative, I feel a bit like a whore going to church when I go to Penzeys, but they are so nice and their spices excellent.

Gotta love the flat windshield on a Jeep. Same way we love it on the Bronco. About to have our third put on in 2 years
Insurance companies are starting to drop people who have too many zero deductible claims in Arizona.  So I have a $250 deductible, saved me $1k/year so if I have less than 4 claims I break even.
How does that mesh with Arizona state law which requires auto insurance companies to provide free windshield replacements to folks that have comprehensive coverage? It seems that if one person (with company "A") has a rash of windshield replacements and gets dropped they just go with another company (company "B"). Somebody with company "B" gets dropped and goes with company "A". Wash, rinse, repeat. So you end up with this merry go round which I'm not sure how the average insurer really gains a big advantage.

It may appear to be free in Arizona but the insurance rates are higher as a result.  Nothing is free in the insurance world.

They have to offer it, but not for the same rate as no glass coverage.  Glass claims are tracked and you get dinged when you shop around if you have too many claims.  Windows are no longer $150.  Some of them are over $3k, because of all the integrated sensors and cameras.  I think car companies were incentivized to make them expensive because of glass coverage from insurances.  Instead of having sensors or cameras somewhere else they embedded them in windows.  Then they get to sell a few extra $3k windows for every car they sell.

Yup. I just bought two windshields last month because I didn’t want to file a claim. I’d end up paying the insurance company triple the cost of the glass in the long run.

I view insurance as a tax more than anything else.

Yes I have always just paid for windshields. The local glass shop charges much less if they don’t have to file insurance.

Its fresh @Ozzie_Isaac lol.  Related, I was overflowing with BBQ rubs and whatnot, they spilled over onto the top of my kegerator in the pantry which is close to a window. After a month or so the sides closest to the window was bleached/discolored on all of the plastic containers, those went in the cabinet, and the Oakridge bags remain.

Most people would be better off raising their deductible from $500 to $1,000.  Look at the potential premium saving compared to your claim history to determine if this makes sense of course.

Window replacement is free here as well but those extras add a deductable of 500 er windshield replacement on a 1500.00 dollar piece of glass for the rover.  Then they skimp out with aftermarket and not all of the features work
