    Whisky…..

Nice pickup.  Around here, I’ve never seen the one on the left and the one on the right in the same store at the same time.  The middle one I’ve never seen at all, but I’m assuming it’s of comparable quality.

That's bourbon, more refined than whisky.  BTW- nice score with the Blanton's.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Ive had the Buffalo Trace, IMO it is one of the best bourbons out there for the price ($28), this is my 1st bottle of Blanton’s and 1792.

@Ozzie_Isaac  who cares when you’re drinking allocated bourbon.

I am on board with the BT-my daily pour and I usually (key word) can find it at that price point.  However, for that past year plus I have seen limited distribution around here (to the tune of many weeks drought) a mere 58 miles from the distillery.
Of late the BT seems to be a bit more available (still 1 bottle /buy) but the Blanton's has become a true unicorn.
The further from the epicenter it seems the easier to find.

Our state store releases “allocations” every 3rd Saturday. That is the only time they have any of these and more. A friend of mine actually picked up the Blanton’s for me after standing in line for quite some time this past Saturday. I was able to pick up the other two today as there were leftovers. The Blanton’s and Eagle Rare sold out Saturday fairly quick after opening. I did t get any Eagle Rare.

Local dealer had this on the floor, and had used for a cooking demo!  Got a good price, so they deliver it Thursday. Construction quality was awesome!

Since I'm here - when you get a chance can you post the dump date for the Blanton's?
BTW- I think that for the price point (MSRP $35 in the chain stores) Eagle Rare is about the best 10 yo bourbon going.

I tried Brother Bond last weekend, a friend had it and was glad she found someone to share with. It was fantastic.  We polished off the bottle.  If you haven't tried it, I recommend giving it a shot.

I love me some 1792. Unfortunately the only one I can find is the small batch. I did score a bottle of the single barrel a few years back. I would love to try all their offerings.

  • Ate dinner at a restaurant called Whiskey Cake. Saw this by the entrance. SWMBO is a candle nut, the scent is Whiskey Cream or something so win/win. They take the empty whiskey bottles and a local lady makes candles out of them.

Local vet down here in Hardin County, KY makes candles too. Had this Japanese export bottle made into one.

Finally was able to pick this up this past weekend and I mounted it on the wall yesterday

That’s awesome. Can’t have anything like that on my walls. My kids would throw something just to see if they could knock one/all down

I would love to have one of those!  Being from Owensboro, did you get it from retailer or from maker?

From the maker. Guy makes them in his shed behind his house. I'll have to see if I can find his info. Found it on Facebook

My brother is a high level Mercedes mechanic who's spent over 100k on Snap On tools.  He tells me Harbor Freight's Icon tools are put together by one of the guy's that did it at Snap On.  Quality and price beat Snap-on.  Quality is as good or better for most tools.

He said this was a great deal for a very high quality tool.

Potentially a new NVR and camera system for the house. Current Lorex system had a camera go down. It’s 7 years old. Hoping Lorex has backstock not listed on their website. Rather spend $150 than $1500

Two yetis, a charcoal starter that I’ve never used before and a brisket knife. Very very excited for Saturday.
