I made a run to Eureka, MO to get some stuff from stlcharcoal.

Of course I picked up some bags of Rockwood, but I finally converted over to Kich Ash cans.  Plus upgraded my crappy charcoal basket that came with my XL when I bought used with a Kick Ash basket.

I also treated my self to a Shun brisket knife.  Can't wait to try it out.

    Everything is so shiny.

Nice new toys. That knife is samurai sharp….ask me how I know

Wife was being a bit much this week. Got her a little present.

Great knowing you.  We will miss you.
Jokes on you. She found it hilarious and useful. It has a heating pad that smells like lavender.

I acknowledge that it could have went one of two ways. Luckily it went the right way.

So you think. I would sleep with one eye open for a bit. Just to be on the safe side.

Why do bakers use unsalted butter, then add salt?  Is it for consistency, control, or some other reason?

Flavor control more than anything in this application. Hawaiian style product. Heavy on butter, heavy on sugar. Need to use unsalted to make sure the sweet profile comes thru without hurting your teeth. Unsalted butter also has a sweeter flavor

55# solid cube. Frozen. We leave about 2500# out at a time. If you use it within a week you’re good. Otherwise it goes into our walk in cooler or freezer

Haven't been able to buy this in my local Publix for quite some time so I drove to Total Wine after getting my new US Government approved driver's license. Might have gone a little overboard.

@lousub  - Back in the day when I was hanging around/stationed with underwater sailors your assumption would be correct. One memory I do have of those times is being invited to dine with an E-9 and his spouse at his PAFB enlisted housing on the beach side. Traveling down the hallway to the head was interesting. Floor to ceiling cases of beer on one side of the hallway almost the entire length.

However having gotten separated from those influences my consumption has returned to the occasional more normal level.

Just ordered a Weber Kettle, for the new beach house.
The Weber kettle led me to the BGE eventually.  I need to pick one up off of Craigslist.

And here I thought  Cat o' Nine Tails...No worries , I will clean up my act downstream.
Impressive one handed rig-by chance @MediumRarely "left handed?" Asking as I am one and we tend to look for the others in the great minority.
For the record somewhere less than 13% of the population is left handed.  I am a card carrying hard core left hander.  Neither parents were lefties.  FWIW-

We thought the way things are trending it may be time to open the food pantry and gauge interest.  So off to Ol Walmart.

    This is the first trip.

Actually I am even more of an anomaly - I go both ways.

I could have done without this one. Close to a "DISLIKE". No offense if this was a selfie.
