Wow, I googled that.  It brought up a pretty dark book about abuse and alcoholism aimed at kids titled "Why Daddy Hits Mommy".  Jeebus, that is really sad.

The irony is mommy is mean because she's a friggin' alcoholic.  The crier is putting the cart before the horse.

Not sure what I think of your new porch chairs, Nola. Avant-garde as they are, they don't look very comfortable and don't exactly mesh with your other seating.

i think the tyre swings will look nice. goodyear have a softer side wall and would be more comfy though

I’m sure it was not intended but dang that’s an optical illusion.

I put the tyre swings on the truck.  No more rubbery seating on the porch.

Bought a new 12” cast iron pan from Prepd- doing the initial seasoning tonight.

That pan looks awesome!  That is the way they all should look, in my opinion.  The rough surface these days takes forever to fill in with seasoning.

I just wish Prepd made a two handled version similar to the Lodge.  I would hate to cut that handle off to use it on my egg.

  • Just added to my collection of sheds, it's massive!

  • thats a great score

theres a guy that carves wood fish replicas near me. he carved a sebago salmon for me years ago but theres no way i could have financed his 3D displays. this is a table top display. he took measurements of mine, pictures etc and got the details down to the dot locations

Labrador Brookie on Moose antlerNote The rock habitat is also made of wood as is the 6

this was the salmon  i have hanging up at camp, these will be collectables some day

Very nice work, would like to do some wood carving. I've done some bone carving using my deer sheds, think I'll hang the moose shed!

I made my bench's top layer out of Masonite and left it loose inside the frame so I could replace it when necessary.

Just unboxing a fun little delivery.

@GrateEggspectations- you definitely like it hot!  Curious as to how long that supply will last until a restock order?
BTW- sweet looking peek at your cutting board.

    That's a good solid plan.

These are UV birch plywood and I'm putting some OSB under them to add stiffness/density.   My good workbench that I made well over a decade before is two layers of birch plywood covered with spalted maple planks.  It's build like a bowling lane.

Edging is a soft cypress.  I'm going to epoxy the tops after burning in some reference material and maybe some vanity inlays because you only live once.

used to go to a camp that the final journey was 18 miles by boat to fish, the main table and the food prep island was a bowling lane, diamonds and all. have though about buying some old ones online for the camp counters. its like an iron wood with the old tight ring maple.

I see bowling lane for sale on craigslist all the time.  The sections with the markers are more expensive (especially the dots area where balls fall hardest).
