my front yard lawn ornament, hasnt moved in 20 years (atleast its not a bassboat).  had an offer for 5k this weekend, contemplating but i pretty much never sell anything. engine will run with a carb rebuild, new lines and tank, seafoam did it in

Nice!  $5k is low.  Would tell the guy $12k, and plan on getting $8k, which is more inline with the value, assuming it isn't a rusted hulk.

8 was my gut feeling as well. it has all the typical rust for a chipmunk condominium. just floored how much they are worth as a thorough rebuild. i just dont see working on it for the next ten years. wish he was asking about the convertible roof dakota next to it, it would be gone already

did a great job cleaning the buildup in a 1971 gas tank and sending all the crap out into the carb. what was i thinking and i have no idea why i even did that.

Lambo cop car spotted near my office.

@Battleborn: You should make a case for one of these!

Any department that does something like that should be defunded. We get our a$$ handed to us if we scratch our 2010 explorers with a 150k, duct taped interior and spotlights held on with zip ties. I can only imagine what would happen if I even looked at that thing.

Even if that Lambo was a seizure, it costs a fortune to maintain.  Not a great fleet vehicle when you're at city hall trying to justify your budget.

I'm pretty sure Newport Beach can afford it.  *just realized this is a really old comment

I'll give you $6k presuming it isn't a crime scene inside.

If you don't need to sell it to put food on the table or a roof over your head, keep it.  If, sometime in the future, you need cash you can sell it then.

Factory convertible Dakotas are that rare bird, hard to find and still worthless. Something like 5,000 were built.

1000 4x4's in 1989. they should have dropped V8's in these, a V6 with 125 hp is a slug.after driving it for 30 years i still have a hard time not slamming vehicle doors and pushing the throttle pedal to the floor( dodge should have just put an on of switch on the gas pedal on this one)  the convertible boot cover that is used when the top is down is worth more than the truck, mine was used once

I had a 2.5L manual transmission dakota.  120 screamin ponies.  I raced everyone I saw and no one even noticed.

I had a 1999 with the 360 magnum (5.9 R/T) in it.  Rear tires were always bald.  What a fun truck.  Solar yellow.

In a complete moment of weakness/stupidity, I traded it in on a Town & Country mini-van.  My masculinity has never recovered from that fateful moment.

It is probably for the better, I would never be able to afford the 8MPG's it got with gas prices today.

That was the truck I lusted after.  If they had put that 5.9L in a standard cab with a manual that would have been a legend.

Let's hope it looks good. The last generation of Dakota's were ugly. My buddy had one and the looks were just the beginning of issues that he had with his Dodge Dakota. He went through three transmissions as it climbed over 100K mile mark. He sold it for a F-150 and hasn't looked back.

I had a 99 F150, was a great truck except for the #4 cyclinder coil on plug.  It was right below a coolant line that was notorious for leaking.  I used to leave an extra coil pack in my truck.  Had to replace it 3 times.  Even tried fixing the leak with no luck.

Also door locks, heater core, window motors, etc.  In general all fixable by a layman, but spent many a weekend working on it to get to work on Monday.

Heads and tells better than the worst car I have ever owned.  A 2012 Acadia.  I am sure it was designed by some flunkies from Range Rover and assembled by a first week UTI class.

at about 30k on the ford i had replaced the transmission, clutch, distributor, water pump, starter, alternator, tail gate mechanism, and the three on the tree broke off about 300 miles from home. i was shifting gears with a tire iron. going to hit 150k on the rr soon, so far the third brake light, lower dirt seal on a door, and about 3 feet of brake line. havent found the engine yet, not going to look for it. i did buy some metric tools though im betting every tool needed is a special custom one

I have no idea the meaning of ICASIL but the Oscar Meyer mobile may be the first step in returning this thread to true exotic cars.  I'm hoping-not that I can contribute much.    Exotic $$ here are invested in dually trucks transporting high end thoroughbred horses.  FWIW-

For those not aware, there were only 500 Chip Foose F150s made.

Here is an article about them.
