Deep frying in oil is better than "frying" in air.
    That is simply a fact.

  • There is no bigger waste of good ribeye than making prime rib.

This might actually come as a surprise, but to some degree I do agree.

I'd even go so far as to say ribeye is one of the most overrated cuts of beef. I'll take tritip or skirt any day. I need some beef flavor.

Only my opinion. It fits perfectly in this thread. I'm sure most would disagree with my statement above.

    BBQ originated with people who:

    A. Had little to choose from.
    B. Knew next to nothing about nutrition.

Why are we so infatuated with it today?

As a collective, we still don't know much about nutrition.
Do you mean that the average Joe still eats a poorly balanced diet? Or that scientists and medical professionals still have significant room for growth in regards to understanding nutrition?
Apologies... Haven't clicked on this thread in a while.

In response to your questions - all of the above. The average Joe's diet is pretty piss poor. My own is far from perfect. Nutrition is an imperfect science, and most medical professionals/scientists don't get it in a way that can impact most patients' lives.

Add in the financial incentives for all kinds of nutritional supplements/diets/etc. and you've got a slew of folks aiming to take advantage of scads of other folks.

I see instances of this many times daily.
