It’s a condiment if dipped or placed on top as a flavor or color add . If the ketchup (your example)  is mixed into the meatloaf, it is an ingredient.

What if I cook with butter and then use it on what I cook?  Can it be both at the same time? Does that defy some laws of physics or something?

Oooops...I almost did as I sometime will use it for cooking eggs since it's mostly just EVOO anyway!

Hmmm, guess it's been quite a while since anybody slammed Rachael Rae for saying "EVOO" which used to rile some eggers here for some reason!

Kerrigold is second to our household favorite Plugra, which has been really hard to find since the Covid.

Hmm, need to keep my eye out for Plugra.  I am not familiar with it.
