First Brisket

First ever brisket was a small 4lber that I was gifted from my extended families farm in PA. Turned out as well as I could have hoped. Just needed more smoke in the beginning to get the ring.

That looks awesome.  That's as good as a flat gets.

Great result right there.  You have established a benchmark that will challenge you every follow-on brisket cook.  That is a sweet place to be.  Especially impressive is cranking that out with a flat.  Well done.

Real great results, especially from such a small cut. Bravo!

fyi  smoke does not cause the ring so adding more will not get you the look you desire.  smoke adds flavor -  so if the smoke flavor was what you liked then you added the right amount.

Nice, what internal temperature did you take the brisket up to?
