Sorry to have missed another intellectual gathering. And the Friday night zoom chat.  Next week!
    It's a 302 thing . . .
  • Dang- sorry I missed it. Was an early launch into LEO for me yesterday. Got out on the lake a little and by the time I got hime was in no shape to hold up my end of a conversation. Could have been entertaining for you guys though. Perhaps next week.

@The Cen-Tex Smoker Shoulda rolled in.  As long as a former Army dude shows up you will be light-years ahead since " man-down" is their trained fetal position.   B)
I would opt for the lake choice as well but this watering hole doesn't generally get rolling til at least 9 PM (EDT) and will go well into the next day as you well know.
I am truly surprised that there aren't more who would at least belly up to the bar for one drink just to enjoy the entertainment.  But I'm old and have a lawn so I am likely big-time missing the mark.

@JJensen- Scroll to page one of this thread for the Zoom link.  Then @JohnInCarolina will PM the password.  (He owns the watering hole but is very gracious with not putting any crowd control limits on the attendees although all are sensitive to social distancing... =)  ).  The generally understood start time for the doors to open is around 9 PM (EDT) with people floating in and out (or passed out) until the early hours of the following AM.  Discussions are free-flowing with only religion and politics off-limits.  It is good fun and as you can see above, the BGE and BBQ are infrequent topics but certainly will get their due if offered up.  Welcome aboard.

Bump.  Who's up for tomorrow?  Some topics for possible discussion:

    1) How JIC and his group are ruining the forum
    2) Bourbon
    3) Is this the first wave or the second wave?
    4) Rye

Absent an unseen audible, I plan to roll in around 9 PM (EDT). A few more offerings...
    5) (insert terms) WBAGNFARB (nod to @Botch)
    6) CBD products
    7) N A internal combustion engines and the electric future

Always worth the price of admission if only for one cocktail at the virtual watering hole.
    (Edit:)  No politics or religion.

It was a question to the group not him. I know he doesnt run the call. Just seems weird you realize it can cause issues for your video chat but screw the forum. And im not sure how I was pocking on anyone by asking a question?

I think LIT and JIC should come down to Vegas. I'm sure we can talk Dana White into letting us use his Apex facility for a cage match. We can then live stream it PPV style on the Friday night Zoom call. Proceeds go to the winner's charity of choice.

@Lit Frank nailed it with his answer above. Keyboard Warriors aren't so warrior like when face-to-face, even virtually. It can be controlled and nipped in the bud easily via Zoom. It can't be policed as effectively in a thread.

And despite the recent events, I agree with you, it was just a question and a legitimate one at that.

Then maybe next time address it to the group?

To be clear nobody really "runs" these things, either.  Sometimes Frank refers to me as the "chairman" but there are many times when I'm not even on.  It's a pretty free-flowing discussion.

I wouldn't actually have any issue discussing politics or religion in these sessions.  But someone suggested we avoid them a long time ago and so we've stuck with that.

Did I say Frank? The whole thread is about the video call I assumed you could figure some things out on your own. Many on here have requested we keep religion and politics off the forum why is your video chat more important than the forum?

I offered my response to what I figured was a question to the group but since I posted the disclaimer I thought I would offer one perspective.
Regarding the forum and the video-those who choose to participate in the video chat have understood the guidelines since inception.
BTW-why waste a good Friday evening with politics and religion when that is available for the remaining 160+ hours a week??   B)
