Just saw it has been upgraded from a caragory 1 to a catagory 4 in 24 hours.

I read where it is likely to get to a catagory 5. In the next couple of days.

Hoping everyone makes decisions to do what it takes to be safe.

The last I saw it was going to hit the coast about even with the Everglades and immediately head up the coast part on land and part on water.  Going to be expensive.

Shocking it went to 4 so quickly.  Been watching these many years - I’d say good chance of getting to 5.  Mother-in-law has a house several hundred yards from the surf in Palm Coast...

In-laws just booked flights to SC to prep their house outside of Charleston. Got hit really  bad by Ivan a couple of years ago. 

The turn is good for some, bad for others. Let’s just hope it turns back out to the Atlantic and fizzles out

Either way I'm prepped and ready. Bloody Mary for the start, beer if it turns out to be nothing, tequila in case it gets real bad and champagne for the end.

I may get to try boiling eggs in the Large BGE next Tuesday. Winds are going to be from the South for us here so my egg will be protected from damage. Will need to wait for the rain to quit though. I have made coffee in my large before, though some folks won't believe that without a video of it.

My butt would be puckered up if I lived in Florida.  Meteorologists can rarely correctly forecast if it’s going to rain tomorrow. I dang sure wouldn’t trust a predicted northernly turn with my life.

Truth.

Also, I have to wonder how much will be left of the Abacos.  We've been to Marsh Harbour, Hopetown, etc.  There's not a lot there that is 15 feet above sea level, and outside of a couple of resorts, the construction didn't seem to be of the highest quality.  Much of it won't withstand the 24 hour beating of 140+ winds that it has been subjected to.
