Latest update. Now South of Orlando but predicted to hook nearly North right up the middle of Florida.

Annoying!

It looks more like the East coast of Florida. Here is a refined spaghetti model and they are all pretty much agreeing now.

Just saw it has been upgraded from a caragory 1 to a catagory 4 in 24 hours.
I read where it is likely to get to a catagory 5. In the next couple of days.
Hoping everyone makes decisions to do what it takes to be safe.

The last I saw it was going to hit the coast about even with the Everglades and immediately head up the coast part on land and part on water. Going to be expensive.

Shocking it went to 4 so quickly. Been watching these many years - I’d say good chance of getting to 5. Mother-in-law has a house several hundred yards from the surf in Palm Coast...Maryland, 1 LBGE

Hoping for the best for you, your family, and your home...as well as all of those facing this hurricane.BugFreak72 said:Another example of the news getting everyone worked up for nothing. People are already swarming the stores for supplies and the damn thing is barely a cat 1.
I've lived in FL my whole life and it never stops amazing me how people react to these things.

Semi good news for Florida, last update has it staying off the coast and moving North. Hoping it misses the entire way."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

To bad for Georgia and the Carolinas though.

My coworker said the last time a big one just missed Puerto Rico like that it was Hugo, I laughed it off. Then woke up this am to see it pointing right at me, damn.I'm not leaving my Scotch.LBGE, 36" Blackstone, Anova ProCharleston, SC

Seems to be taking a similar route as Mathew.
Either way I'm prepped and ready. Bloody Mary for the start, beer if it turns out to be nothing, tequila in case it gets real bad and champagne for the end. -
Yep looks a lot like Matthew to me also. Hope it stays further east as it goes up the coast.

Try boiling it in the Egg..Hook_emHornsfan_74 said:Yeah, our water sucks. We moved here in 81 from Dallas where the water was good. I filled up my glass of water from the sink and you couldn't see through it. It has gotten better. We occasionally cook with it, but definitely don't drink it. I may get to try boiling eggs in the Large BGE next Tuesday. Winds are going to be from the South for us here so my egg will be protected from damage. Will need to wait for the rain to quit though. I have made coffee in my large before, though some folks won't believe that without a video of it.GrateEggspectations said:

Up to Cat 5 with 175mph winds. Bahamas are getting pummeled. I hope everyone managed to get out of there in time, or at least find shelter behind some serious concrete."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

My butt would be puckered up if I lived in Florida. Meteorologists can rarely correctly forecast if it’s going to rain tomorrow. I dang sure wouldn’t trust a predicted northernly turn with my life.HeavyG said:Cool sat photo ...

Truth.
Also, I have to wonder how much will be left of the Abacos. We've been to Marsh Harbour, Hopetown, etc. There's not a lot there that is 15 feet above sea level, and outside of a couple of resorts, the construction didn't seem to be of the highest quality. Much of it won't withstand the 24 hour beating of 140+ winds that it has been subjected to.XXL BGE, Karebecue, Klose BYC, Chargiller Akorn Kamado, Weber Smokey Mountain, Grand Turbo gasser, Weber Smoky Joe, and the wheelbarrow that my grandfather used to cook steaks from his cattle
