Birthday Eve S & M

My amazing bride has a birthday tomorrow. Been cooking her favorites all week. Tonight was Surf and Meat.  Picked up some cold water tails on sale and grilled up some T-bones that my bil gave me from his herd.  Also grilled up a romaine salad with garden cucs and maters.  Thus far she’s allowing me to stay.  Happy Friday.

It was fitting.  And Ron, that’s a 2008.  It too was nice.

Making drawn butter is such a challenge.  Making it the base for a soup.... You may be onto something.

You always inspire me with the seafood. Beautiful cook. Very smart of you to try to bribe your wife into keeping you for another year.

I have never heard it called Surf and Meat.  It was always Surf and Turf.  Is that a regional thing?

I think it's something you'll only see Kentucky fans use, because none of them can understand why steak would be called "turf" when it's obviously not grass.

I will never understand the grilled lettuce thing, how do you clean all the grit from between the leaves?

I think some are reading too much into the S&M.  Clearly the intent was to use the cook props for the real birthday treat @bgebrent was planning later.  Forum decorum at work.  =)

Turf is what you play football on. Does Duke field a team?

We’re talking about Kentucky fans here, Clark.  The logic isn’t supposed to be bulletproof.  Please try and keep up.
