@SGH- I think this game was the biggest challenge they will see right thru the championship game.  The key will be the spread.  You may get a good line on the semi's.  Of course, I'm not in the business so I am no eggspert here.  FWIW-
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Bama was the only thing that kept them from whipping us from opening kickoff. Knew it was gonna be close. Just hoped we could get a lucky bounce or call or something. The fake punt call was brutal.

The fake punt killed the Dawgs. Horrible call. Should have been called off when Bama lined up in their standard D.
As obvious as this may seem, the game was lost on that play.

Honesty, even had they punted it, Alabama had more than enough time left to drive the length of the field and score a TD.  I’m really not convinced it would’ve changed the outcome.  GA just would’nt have gotten the ball back with any time left.

Apparently all you have to do is touch a ball in the end zone to posses it.... if UGA could get a call like Bama we could be dangerous.  Oh and Tyler Simmons was onside.
Agreed, I’m not so sure that was “control”. But fake punt didn’t help at all. Not liking that call either.
My response to that call was "i'll take it." Got very lucky there. Kirby is building a beast...

I understand your point. But if you were going to hand victory to the other team, that call sealed the deal.
4th and long, and running the ball against a standard set defense, not a punt return team, is giving the game away.
Perhaps Bama still might have won, but I would like my chances better making them go 50+ or 80+ yards for a score, vs about 25 or 50ish for a score (FG shorter, TD longer) to win the game. More opportunities to make a play or see Bama make a mistake, (which they did all night long) against one of the best defenses in college football.
Then again, I think defense wins games, which is likely my flaw.

The fake punt was designed to be a pass play. The punt coverage for Al has been there all night to run it. Ga didn’t get lined up in time and took too long to snap the ball. Before the snap Al recognized it and covered the Ga receiver. At that point all Fields could do was try to run the ball.

Oh yea....and let's try to see if the ball was still in the quarterbacks hand when he made a throwing motion but completely ignore the face mask.

  • That is definitely a difference you see between fans of winning teams and fans of those who don’t.  Only one consistently complains about blown calls or officiating.

I'll get rid of these sour grapes. Just need the officials to not make their biased calls so blatant.

Yes yes. That's a very astute observation.

SEC Refs suck.....regardless of any bias. I think all team affiliations will agree to that.

I never said those plays didn't matter.  Those were big mistakes that effected the outcome in a huge way.

Agreed.  And as a sports fan born and raised on Georgia sports....I'm sick of being heartbroken.  Braves, Falcons, Hawks, Dawgs.....maddening!!!
