Peterbilt truck dealership. Parts and new and used truck sales are out the roof.
I'm on for an 80% increase in sales this year and I don't even live in the US.
You sell Peterbilt truck parts too?  Brexit?

Not claiming he's innocent but all we know for sure, to this point, is Trump made crass remarks about women while in the company of another man 12 years ago.
Any guy here not living in a glass house with this one?
Normal banter does not extend to boasting about committing sexual assaults and that your fame means you can get away with it. Not here, anyway.

...because if you sell Peterbilt truck parts and you're not governed by Trump, why did you do so much better than gaygolfer's company?

The bar has been lowered so much it collectively drove the victims here to rise up and speak out.  Hopefully we'll have less tolerance of this moving forward.

I’m just telling you from experience. You can show all the charts and smarta$$ comments you want. Business is booming. Paccar is having record years and so are dealerships across the country. It might be just timing but it’s funny how on Nov 8 business skyrockets. Energy business is up. Look at the state of WV. Signed an $83 billion dollar shale gas and chemical deal with China. Look what that does for the whole states economy. He’s not perfect but you have to give the man some credit.

I joked with him about that when we meet at BB.  Not sure you are barking up the right tree.

Let’s take the glider truck business for example. Obama administration said that in 2017 it’s the last year customers can buy glider trucks no matter what company manufacturers them. So trump canceled that and now you can build them once again. Paccar is working 3 shifts around the clock to meet the demand. That is just one of many examples. A glider is a rolling chassis without the engine, trans, and rear end. Ppl buy them and put the engine they want without all the regulations. A lot cheaper and less electronic issues over time.

There can be no joking anymore. Too high a risk of aggravating the perverbial butthurt crowd.  ;)

I promise I take no one on this forum serious. It’s all good fun. I’m excited about meeting John and Nola. Great guys. We don’t see eye to eye on politics but that doesn’t mean I don’t like them. I never see eye to eye with my wife but we have made it 16 years.

@fishlessman you are correct. 2015-2016 was so bad it had to go up. Might not be Trump but whatever it is I’m a fan.

The DJIA is up nearly 30% this year so it’s not just the trucking biz. The Obama Admin was no friend to industry. It was a long eight years for those of us employed in those sectors.

No, other stuff. I'm just grateful that the Trump Effect has spread over here too.

I thought they bought them to avoid paying F.E.T.

@JRWhitee they did but it was mostly the emissions part. New engines are so regulated with emissions they won’t run like an old engine. It’s insane the price of engine parts and only come with a 1 year warranty. Ppl buy reman Cat engines now and put a 4 year warranty with unlimited miles through Cat in the gliders. Cummins doesn’t offer anything like that unless you purchase in a new truck.
  • Amazing how that “axis scales matter” lesson just doesn’t quite quite take for so many fifth graders.

A loophole around emissions regulations sounds like a solid plan to make money.  #fucktheenvironment

I thought pollution was a big deal in the US, VW emissions scandal and all that. I understand why an individual would want a simpler, cheaper engine, but don't you have the same diesel pollutant problems that we have in terms of NOx and particulates?

does when you invest, does when you are in business in the private sector, not so much in the public and teaching sectors

    Kinda scary.

Interesting. There are no metropolitan areas or cities of any real size in CD 7.

    Only  Birmingham, Montgomery and Tuscaloosa.
    Southeast Florida - LBGE
In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’  Dare to think for yourself.

This is really true, teachers (especially mathematicians) don’t ever really seem to learn how axes work.  I wonder who even invented axes in the first place.  It was probably someone like the Pope.

California is the biggest supporter of emissions control in the US and is leading state in the US with pollution. Go figure.
