I've read more than a few articles over the past few years that talk about how Putin is actually the richest man on the planet (by far) and how he got there.

    Interesting and scary stuff.

Highly entertaining piece by Rick Wilson (a Republican) here:

The central organizing principle of Trump’s administration isn’t Making American Great Again (MAGA). It’s Donald's Evolving Russia Problem (DERP).

LMAO.  No.  He just seemed that way because almost nobody paid attention to anything he said.

When the game began there were better options than where we landed, for sure.  But then I would venture it became a lesser of two evils.  And here we are.  The only time I can recall where I make a conscious effort to catch some evening news just to see what entertainment transpired at the White House.

This "lesser of two evils" business suggests that one is just as bad as the other, and ignores the substantive policy differences between the administrations.  We'd have different WH scandals for sure.   But we don't have a Muslim Ban under a Clinton, or a plan to cut *legal* immigration in half, just to name a few.

I know it takes imagination to discuss hypotheticals man, but give it the old college try for once.

Interesting to note that our friends to the north - Canada - produce 10X more uranium each year than the USA.

Also interesting to note is that about 90% of the uranium purchased by US nuclear plants is imported from other countries, including from Russia.

Also, also interesting to note is that the "uranium sold to Russia" is not legally allowed to be exported.

As to "top dollar" - the spot market and long term prices for uranium have fallen by about 50% over the last 5 years. "Top dollar" just doesn't mean what it used to mean I guess.

Lesser of two evils to me means there was a clear-cut difference (not "one is just as bad as the other.")  We are where we are and no one saw it coming, least of all the White House occupant.
I'm no fan of hypotheticals, just like I can't stand "Monday morning quarterbacking" for any topic.  If you weren't there and had to deal with the events/presented facts as they unfolded, your opinion is nice but that's all it is...  Just an opinion and we all know what those are worth.  ;)  Have a great day.

Point taken on the "lesser" front.  But you really don't even need to consider hypotheticals.  My only real point is that there were policy differences between the two camps, and that people tend to focus on personality and not policy.

This is the case even now with Trump in office.  His policies are what deserve attention, in my view, and not his personality/character.  I'm not suggesting character doesn't matter at all, it does for sure.  But the policies will have an impact much after the personality is out of the White House.

Anything is possible, but Comey didn't recommend charges.  That decision was independent of Lynch.  In fact Comey has said that tarmac meeting was the reason he made the public statement that he did on Clinton.

    No one saw it coming??

That's a pretty preposterous statement. This "Trumpster fire" is pretty much exactly what most voters expected to see/get with Trump as imPOTUS.

@HeavyG -  my comment was directed at his win in the election.  All after that is not very surprising.

@nolaegghead - Thanks for the link.  I am actually working my thru it, interrupted frequently while playing with the stick burner.  So far it does a great job of building the candidate's foundations.

I don't know much, but after Dubya and now this, I never again want to hear someone say we just have to put a "bidnessman" in the White House...
