@caliking I made the dulce de leche, but from the more popular recipes(no pot) from the webz. Sweetened condensed milk in the bath for 15 hr @ 185. Couldn't be easier.

@bgebrent matthew's birthday was yesterday. Made a batch for desert tonight. Justin already asked if he could have another later.  He's the one who renamed them.

I have made these twice now, with outstanding results. The second time I added 2 TBSP of Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter, because who doesn't love chocolate and peanut butter? Came out great, but next time I will add more PB.

I like that a lot!!  The stuff is like crack for chocolate fans.  I wouldn't be too worried.

Yup. I've got 30 planned for a party in a couple weeks. Will have to wait until the last minute to make them to avoid eating a half dozen.

I currently do not own a Sous Vide, but looks like this might work in my pressure cooker if I only use it like a water bath vs pressurizing?  Thoughts?

Not going to work unless you can use your pressure cooker just like a sous vide and control the temp of the water exactly, and I've never heard of a pressure cooker working that way

Well looks like I'm going to be a Sous Vider real soon then.  May the force be with me.

You're better off using a pot on the stove and watching the temp like a hawk.

It would have to be 40.... rookie.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Take that number and multiply it by 1.5 to get the number of pounds you'll gain.

Do you think an induction burner would work?

You'd still have to watch it like a hawk. I'd also worry about the bottoms of the lowest layer of pots.

You might could pull it off pouring water in a pre warmed cooler that's a little hotter than the 176F sous vide temp. Maybe 185F and let the temp ride down to the low 170's. Have some hot water handy for the duration of the cook so you can dip water and replace with hot water to maintain temp. Or simply add hot water if you've got the room.

Or, do it like creme brûlée and put your pots in water open top in the oven.

Personally, I'd skip the wifi and all that and get the cheaper Anova.
