I'm sure it had some effect on Assad and maybe other rogue states.
Being's that he's re-bombed the same city the very next day, I'm afraid the effect was minimal if anything at all.
I know it's against US policy to attack government leadership, but the fact that almost 500,000 Syrians are dead, 9 million displaced (with over half of them completely out of their own country), and most of the country in shambles, just because one damned lisping opthamologist wants to be the king, damn, that's just not right.
Remember when Kadafi's palace was hit, his living quarters in shambles, and one of his own daughters killed?  He shaped up right quick, for many years after that.
And many years after the US was instrumental in removing Gaddafi is Libya a functioning, thriving, and peaceful nation where the rule of law (as defined by Western norms) is making life for most Libyans a better place?

That's a rhetorical question - I think we already know what the answer is. :)
Functioning, peaceful and thriving as long as you didn't disagree with the self appointed dictator in charge, in which case you would end up in jail, tortured and probably killed if deemed a threat to the regime. Have we forgotten how nasty people like Gaddafi, Hussein and Assad (Sr and Jr) were / are? They keep the peace by terrorising their own people, so it's not surprising that there's chaos and bloodshed when they are toppled.

Yup.  Sixty missiles @ $500K apiece.

I wonder how many children being poisoned in Flint, MI could've been helped with that kind of coin.
Does that particular demographic mesh with the concerns of Our President and his base?  Are Flint's "beautiful children" beautiful enough for Him and them?

    I do not know,
    but I wonder.

I wonder how many kids without lunch money have parents that smoke cigarettes - each pack probably = 2 or 3 lunches

Really sad that children are made to feel that way - whomever the decision makers are behind this child shaming business are monsters

    No, Sir.
This began quite a while ago.

Obama gives $80 million to Michigan for Flint

    Melissa Nann Burke, The Detroit NewsPublished 5:29 p.m. ET Jan. 21, 2016 | Updated 10:36 p.m. ET Jan. 21, 2016

Washington — President Barack Obama said Thursday his administration is giving $80 million in aid to Michigan mostly to help repair Flint’s water infrastructure and make the drinking water safe.

Speaking to a gathering of mayors at the White House, the president called the lead contamination of drinking water in Flint an “inexcusable” situation. He noted money recently secured in the bipartisan budget agreement helps cities build water infrastructure.

“We’re going to have that funding available to you by the end of next week, and that includes $80 million for the state of Michigan,” Obama said.

“Our children should not have to be worried about the water that they’re drinking in American cities. That’s not something that we should accept.”

A White House official later said the revolving fund money would be made immediately available. The state will decide how much of the $80 million will be directed to Flint.

I know some parents legitimately can't pay.

  • The Flint city council has these wonderful people plus two others that have declared bankruptcy. But the water problem falls at Trump's feet.

I agree Flint is f'd up in multiple ways, and that Obama gave a bunch of fed money.  Not sure I understand the trump linkage or comparison to Syria other than kids were mentioned, unless you're taking his comments about the children there as being the sole reason he sent some missiles?  It's ok, you don't have to explain. I'm sure it's above my grade level anyway.  I know some people just like to blame the president for everything.  That happened when Obama was in office, Bush, Clinton, etc.

That happened in utard too, the second half (taking their hot food and dumping it in the trash).
The church-state is loud and demanding with installing "Zion Curtains" to prevent young eyes from seeing alcoholic drinks poured/mixed in a restaurant, but when food is yanked away from impoverished children, they are silent.

@Botch - My advice, "Start drinking heavily."
I'm not gonna get sucked into the political vortex other than to say that grown ups need to behave like adults and not dump it on children.  Just accept the responsibility and then deal with the accountability that comes with it.  Too many dodge the accountability these days.  Off soap-box.

Around here over half the students qualify for free/reduced lunch. The ones that actually pay usually have the financial means but the parents are sorry azzes and spend money on other stuff rather than giving their kids lunch money.

I get all of this, but what I don't get is how an administrator looks at parents who don't care enough about their kids to pay for their lunch, and thinks "well surely shaming the kids will do the trick!"

Probably not.  All you're doing is effing up the kids, and perpetuating the cycle.

That is the Democrat way.  Keep the impoverished cycle going.  If you help them get a head you will lose your voting base.

Assuming that the kid even bothers to tell his parents. Either they are desperate poor or dead beats who could careless about their kids. The kid knows the score, bring it up would hurt the one type of parent and get him in trouble with the other.

Really...shame on them for trying to scam crappy school lunches that mostly end uneaten and in the trash.

They're as bad as those poor sports team owners who always trick the taxpayers into paying for their billion dollar playgrounds.
