Son of a ****.  What a game. I have no finger nails left.
Has One Shining Moment ever featured 4 straight missed free throws before?

@JohnInCarolina - I do believe the BBN (Big Blue Nation for the non basketball junkies here) would agree til the game is played.  Then the above has come up short a few times in the recent past.  That's why they play the game.
BTW- I am so old that I recall listening to the mens B'ball final game on the radio.  And yes that was in the early 1960's.  A few years before UCLA started the run.  (I did catch the great 1966 game as it happened.)
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

The final usually comes down to whichever team has the most future NBA players, and, well...
If that were true Kentucky would be in the final.  Next year.

UNC did what winners do....they answered adversity and never stopped wantimg it more than the ducks.  I dont know if they took oregon lightly but if the ducks didnt get stage fright, if they could rebound on a unc free throw when ou has advantage and if they didnt take stupid shots like a 2 pt layup rather than going for the tie on a 3 that game wouldve gone to oregon, all else being equal.  Now if unc had to deal with an oregon team that didnt make so many mistakes, maybe they play like unc

Charles Barkley predicted gonzaga to win nc..  I am not sure about that. NC might step up and be more serious against zaga than they took oregon

Great games though yesterday and this tourney so far has been one of the most thrilling i ever have seen

I humbly disagree about taking the layup. Oregon would have had plenty of time to get a final shot off and based on UNC's poor free throw shooting they wouldn't have even needed a three at the buzzer. Boxing out was the problem, not clock management. UNC also did plenty to try and give that one away, so I'm not sure I'd say they made "winning" plays (without suggesting all those missed FTs were "losing" plays) as much as they survived a tense finish. Having said that, I think they will beat the Zags.

i dont know enough about basketball to really assess whether the layup or 3 pt attempt was called for with so little time left.   To me taking the layup was more of a playing not to lose instead of playing to win move.

I do know a lot about body language in competitive sports and it sure appeared like oregon was a deer in the headlights late in that game and UNC was like,"Uh, we have been here before so its something we can handle..."   Oregon seemed overwhelmed to make it this far and they choked on the big stage...and its really too bad because had they been able to uncover a killer instinct, last nights game was theirs for the taking.

Berry will need to play better on Monday. Will be tough going in the lane for both teams.

So, does anybody in our group have Gonzaga winning it all?

I enjoyed March Madness this year. I tip my hat to Gonzaga...they look solid. Should be a great final. My ladies won it all, and our men fell a game short. Exceeded my expectations this year. Good luck to the Heels and Zags.

I picked Gonzaga to win it all. I successfully picked the 2 teams in the Championship game, not that crazy of a pick as they were both #1 seeds. My biggest bracket buster was my own team SMU that I had picked going to the Final 4 getting knocked out in the 1st round! Ahhh!

Going to be a tough game.  The Zags are ridiculously good and BIG.  The way Joel Berry and Isaiah Hicks have been playing, I'm not too confident.  They need to step up HUGE for this game to be close.

s'pose Carolina has practiced free throws in the last day or two?

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Go Zags!  That being said, with NC's big game and coaching experience, I expect a great game.

Yep. But it's entirely possible that UNC will manhandle the zags. Esp if big guys eye is not good.

For the first and probably last time I am leading. In my office pool I think I'm second to last.

I thought the winner of the UNC - UK game would win it all. Still do.

Neither team playing very well in the first half.  Whoever gets a rhythm in half 2 and controls the glass wins.  Go Zags.  Oh, and free throws...terrible.
