So sorry to hear this my friend. Anytime I hear "cancer", my heart skips a beat. I think we all have been affected by it in some way at one time or another. It has truly became the modern day plague. Of all the things we waste and pour millions of dollars into, I can't help but to think that a cure for cancer would take presidence over the minuscule nonsense. However for some reason it does not. It's sad really. Again, so sorry to hear about your friend. I will be hoping and praying for a miricale. I wish y'all the very best my friend.

As tough as the visit may have been, I'm sure everyone appreciated your presence.  You know you did the right thing.
    God speed to all.

This is something that you can be proud of. Instead of just saying "Poor Joe", you actually took the time and effort to go and see him and his family. He might have not even known you were there, but you did. I wish the best for him and his family and for you. No regrets, buddy.

You might try singing or talking reassuringly. The hearing is last to go, and songs often will bring up sheltering memories.
This, and favorite music, or any music.

When my mom was passing, she actually developed an affinity for rap music.   It seemed to perk her up and make her smile.

I have an uncle that just beat cancer.

My wife has an Aunt and her Grandmother that both only a few weeks (or days) left to live because of cancer.

I hardly ever use profanity on message boards, but **** CANCER!!!

Go see your buddy.  Cancer is a son of a **** and you never know when he is going to take a turn for the worse.

Wanted to stop by on Thursday morning but they were having a bad day and asked folks to not visit. Apparently the Cancer is spreading quickly. No more x-rays are being taken of Joes chest. His heart is skipping beats. Apparently his tracea is getting hit hard. Ultrasound was done of his heart over the weekend.
My heart breaks whenever I think of Sandra. What a terrible thing to have to witness....the love of your life getting "eaten alive" by this evil, horrid disease.
Would like to thank you folks for your thoughts and prayers.

Joe woke up for a while today. Was alert enough to find out he is terminal. On their Go Fund Me page Staci, their daughter posted a picture of Sandra and Joe talking....bought tears my eyes.

Man I'm so sad to hear this. Even though I don't know him or yourself from Adam. Cancer has touched my life more times than I care to mention (have lost countless family and friends to it).  I am a Survivor myself. Try to enjoy the little things in life, the moments...and your friendship with your buddy. Life is too damn short!  Oh yeah & Fûck You Cancer!!!

Could not agree more about your final statement. A survivor... good deal. My wife, Ernestina, is a breast cancer survivor. Cancer sucks....

Glad you got to pay him a visit....we never know our expiration date.  A buddy in my hunting club died a week after opening season at the club and I was already home. ida rather seen him or been there then seeing him again at the viewing! I battled 2 bouts of cancer and became stronger but with all the crap out in the world we come into contact with, everyone is at risk!

I'm glad you made it, and that he knew you were there to see him. And it helped Sandra, too, knowing that he has friends who will answer.

Looks like Joe is nearing the end of his battle. Heart rate, blood pressure and breathing are starting to bounce around. Has developed some sort of "Third Space" trouble.  Last rites were done yesterday....

Well...made it to Phoenix.  Met Sandra at the hospital. Joe was asleep. His eyes opened a few times while I was at his bedside. Couldn't help but notice the look of fear in his eyes.

Praying for all three of you that any fear in his eyes is replaced by the comfort of knowledge very soon.
