First hire a attorney, but keep 1 million liquid and let the attorney know upfront that 1 million is for a hit man in case he gets any "bright" ideas of stealing the money.

As far as what to buy....I don't know. Nicer motor home maybe? I still would not go and buy a 2 million dollar one as I'm just not that fancy. I know for a fact I would leave Iowa, damn cold weather....but even with the interest you are looking at about 15,000 a day. Yeah I could live on that I think.

Forgot I bought a tix til I saw this thread.  The above "no winner" post really screwed up my AM but I will get past it.  On to greater things for the next round.  ;)

@DMW ... @Darby_Crenshaw ... I agree, however, an alternate view point is that for $2 one can dream big for 3 to 4 days.  That, I would argue, is the breaking point since $4 (two tickets) doesn't double the fun ...

ill be more specific. I won.....holy ****! I have this ticket that needs to get to the state lottery office. I could drive there. I could get a limo. Would you guys get some sort of security?
Why would you need any security???

If you won, would you take out a full page newspaper ad telling everyone that you won with a picture of you and where you live BEFORE you just quietly walked into the lotto office to turn in the winning ticket?

I would share the winnings with my immediate family (siblings, parents, and inlaws) and a token donation to the 'NRA'.  At the public event, I will ask for our privacy and warning that anyone who plans on messing with my family needs to be better armed than we are.

I always thought it was a tax on the dumb, but that works too.

I dream more about who to give the money to. Sure, I want a piece to live without worrying about where the next dollar will come from.

Brother, that is mighty fine of you. However if I win the powerball, we are going to have a talk about that dough recipe ;)

Have no illusion it is a pseudo tax.  If you choose to buy in and can afford to, fine.  If a winner the giving away is what would be the most fun for sure!

The recipe was given out for the most part. Should you win the Powerball, I think a deal can be worked out. Your attorney can talk to mine assuming we have attorneys.

I hate to bring up the past but great pizza dough is not something that people share. There is only one place I know where pizza dough formulas are evaluated and its not here.

Boy, has this gone off topic.

Yea, I know I'll get some negative hits from this.

Brother I'm just messing with you above. I remember seeing some altercations about the dough recipe between you and the MaskMan and thought it was funny. No ill intent at all on my part. Just trying to be humorous my friend.

@ SGH I got it; I saw the humor.  But just in case you hit the $1,300,000 lottery, I am open for discussions.

I don't think I ever got into in with Maskman. I don't think he was a credible match based on intelligence.; just like DMW or eggyouk; or whatever their handle is.

Talking about it this morning around the coffee pot at work. I told everyone they'd know I won by the guy I hire to come in, clean my desk and turn in my resignation. After that, they'd never see or hear from me again. Lawyers would be hired, trusts set up.

When the jackpot started getting big my wife and I bought tickets and the first thing I asked her is "Who are we going to stop talking to first?"
