Is elephant dung better than dried dog turds for this use?

Bought around 20 bags of Rockwood Lump this year, 6 Big Green Egg, 12 bags of Carbon Del Sol. Found only 1 rock in all the bags thus far. RW is the best of the 3, and the source of the rock.
Just like CrackerJacks ... one looks for and savors the prize in the box.  How do you think Rockwood got the "rock" part of it's name?  Although I think Jonathan's quality has gone down a little ... didn't find a single rock in the last 10 bags.
I agree about quality control.  I weighed my last 20 bags of RW.

They are labeled as 20# bags, but everyone weighed 21#'s.
Does the empty bag weigh about a pound?

Empty bag is 7-8 oz. depending on how much the stitching machine trims off the top.  There's 0.4-0.6# of lump overage in each bag to cover any rocks, banding, machine error, etc.
  • My 35lb bag of fogo finally showed up today.. I will be using it this weekend.. Maybe Monday.. On a brisket (if I can find a good one)

RO was used this past weekend on ribs and pizzas... Did just fine
