@jabam  I saw ZZ Top two years ago and it was easily one of the worst shows I've ever seen. It was just another one of those "old guys need a paycheck" tours. They quit playing 20 mins before cutoff time. Wish I'd seen them in their prime.
The last time I saw them was 2002 or 03  maybe they are mailing it in now. But the first time I saw them was 1979 and they have never disappointed. Sorry you had the bad experience:( I guess everyone has a bad day!

I said eagles in an earlier post, had the wrong year it was 1978 not 1988. But I have been to at least 6 ZZTop concerts through the years and have bee awesome every time! The best one was at Tulare County Fair 1997. Small crowd and the boyz were awesome!! Eagles at the Cow Palace was still the best!!!
Cow Palace, hell yes.  Saw a lot of shows there.
    Love you bro!

Does it count that I was at some great shows my parents attended while I was an embryo?

AC/DC - as long as Malcolm was playing. Second was Hendrix, where Ike turner and Tina were the warm up band.
Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

    1 Nine Inch Nails
    2 AC/DC
    3 Disturbed
    4 Garth Brooks
    5 The Offspring
    6 Loreena McKennit

Honorable mention is Eric Clapton.  He only played two of his old tunes which were epic, the rest was all very new, which I find only OK.

I would give my egg to be able to see Rage Against The Machine.  Probably not in the cards though

I just saw Elton John a few months ago, and that guy can still rock.
I took my mom to Eagles Hell Freezes Over Tour, but I had Mononucleosis so I had some issues. It was still a great time.

Got to meet Pearl his daughter.   Next am took elevator to checkout with his music director Kasim Sultan and his GF.   2 days later I was in Hershey Pa on business and the plane went down not too far away.   Fun  to tragedy in just a few days.   Had to rent a car to get bk to Atl.

Rolling Stones!!! Mick J. rocks, even for an old man.
  • Kidrock at City Stages in Birmingham. I like Kidrock, but I'm not a huge fan, but he put on an awesome show. Played every instrument on stage and did a montage of Detroit music that was out of this world

We've had the pleasure of cooking at the Stagecoach Music Festival for several years.  They run a California State BBQ Championship at the same time.  In 2011? we were out prepping meat for the overnight cook and the Eagles were playing about 100 yards away and sounded so good.  What a night to remember.  A little classic Rock in Roll with BBQing on the Egg...best concert for me by far.

The Allman Brothers at the Wharehouse in New Orleans early 70's. I remember Dickey Betts  freakin me out with his guitar playing.
    ZZ Top a close second.

I have seen a );,?$$ load of shows. Many genres but my main following is I'm a metal head from the 80's.

    Pink Floyd
    Stones
    McCartney

I've seen a lot of 80's bands, some have evaded me over time but for the most part I've seen them all and many of the in multiples. I was even in a band back in the day named Sweet Misery. All I wanted was the rock and roll lifestyle. Lol. Then reality kicked in and I realized I had a better shot at my culinary career instead. I sold a lot of my rig only keeping a bit of stuff.

    I digress.
My all time favourite band of all time is Motley Crüe.
My ultimate favorite show was with Motley Crüe in May of 2013. I was able to get backstage and meet the band and a personal minimal idol in Nikki Sixx. I got him to sign a bass that he played on that night.

I am going backstage again this August. I bought a VIP package to see them one final time. Although I have seen them 3 times on this final tour already. Lol. I collect only high end motley items and waiting for this final show to put everything on my man cave wall.

Here re are some pics of my best night ever.

Really?  I saw him and Billy Joel when they toured together 15 years ago.  They sucked.   Thought their tour should have been sponsored by Sucrets, Ricola or the Smith Brothers.
