Went to see a nutritionist today on advice of my digestive health Dr.  She was pretty cool.  All she asked was I try for 2 weeks to take dairy and grains out of my diet.  Any and all protein was OK.  I will give it an honest try after cheating on Valentines day.

We are staying in this cave house (the nice looking one in the middle) - the house is cut into the rock. It's really hot here in the summer and the cave houses keep cool whatever the temperature. Lots of pretty rough / derelict cave houses in the village due to depopulation - growing olives and almonds seems to be the full scope of the local economy.

Looks like a cool vacation @Eoin. Keep the pictures coming!!

@northGAcock There is a base of pasta sauce, olive oil, garlic, and S&P under the vegetables that bubbles up.

I forgot eggplant last night and I put a little too much pasta sauce in the CI but here is the recipe @SciAggie .

    Ratatouille
    1/2 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, very thinly sliced
1 cup tomato puree (I just use my favorite pasta sauce)
    2 tablespoons olive oil
    1 small eggplant
    1 smallish zucchini
    1 smallish yellow squash
    1 red bell pepper
    Few sprigs fresh thyme
    Salt and pepper
Few tablespoons soft goat cheese, for serving

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Pour tomato puree into bottom of an oval baking dish, approximately 10 inches across the long way. Drop the sliced garlic cloves and chopped onion into the sauce, stir in one tablespoon of the olive oil and season the sauce generously with salt and pepper.

Trim the ends off the eggplant, zucchini and yellow squash. As carefully as you can, trim the ends off the red pepper and remove the core, leaving the edges intact, like a tube.

With a very sharp knife, cut the eggplant, zucchini, yellow squash and red pepper into very thin slices, approximately 1/16-inch thick.

Atop the tomato sauce, arrange slices of prepared vegetables concentrically from the outer edge to the inside of the baking dish, overlapping so just a smidgen of each flat surface is visible, alternating vegetables. You may have a handful leftover that do not fit.

Drizzle the remaining tablespoon olive oil over the vegetables and season them generously with salt and pepper. Remove the leaves from the thyme sprigs with your fingertips, running them down the stem. Sprinkle the fresh thyme over the dish.

Cover dish with a piece of parchment paper cut to fit inside.

Bake for approximately 45 to 55 minutes, until vegetables have released their liquid and are clearly cooked, but with some structure left so they are not totally limp. They should not be brown at the edges, and you should see that the tomato sauce is bubbling up around them.

Serve with a dab of soft goat cheese on top.

Perfect....thanks. That is a beautiful pan of food.

Watching the PyeongChang Olympics, and reminiscing; the women's half-pipe just finished and the winner, from the USA, already had the Gold when she took her final run, and she burned it!
My band played not once, but twice, for the '02 Winter Olympics here in Utard, both outdoor shows.  The first, up in Ogden, was in the teens and our fingers weren't working by the end of our 45-minute set.  The second, towards the end of the Games in SLC, was in the low 40's, we had a huge crowd and one of the most memorable experiences in my life; what fun!
Jeff, the bass player and I were avid skiers and we took the men's downhill course at Snowbasin; at least, the bottom 9/10's of it.  The main chairlift takes you most of the way up, then a separate chairlift takes you to the top.  That top portion had an average angle of 15 degrees off of vertical; we looked up at it, and decided simultaneously to just take the bottom portion (and IT was about 45º, that was bad enough!).  Snowbasin also had the women's course roped off, we got to watch some of the ladies taking the course in practice, and the TV just doesn't give you the idea of the speed, wow!

Wife wanted to try sample colors on the wall.  She left a paint brush with paint out where our puppy could get it.  Came home this evening to find our nice new sectional covered in paint.  Decided to just leave for the puppies sake.

@Ozzie_Isaac "pics or it didn't happen..."  just kidding but I'm sure there was no barrier to entry for the puppy so he/she/it sounds blameless to me.  You will have a great story to tell once the fun wears off.  Blankets for the style points after drying until the great modern art unveiling.
I can picture the scene- you are saved by the puppy.  My laugh meter would be pegged high with that...

Luckily it was latex paint.  I pulled the covers off and washed them in the shower as best I could.  Here are some of the covers drying.  Micro suede, wish they were actual leather like my last sofas.

Yeah, the puppy is not to blame.  She was doing what puppies do.  That is why I left for a while....my emotional side did not agree with my logical side.  Now just need to figure out a nice political way to tell my wife to not leave wet paint brushes out.

Last week she ate about $600 in shoes.

I've had 5 dogs.  This one, all 6 lbs, is the most destructive by far.  My 110lb rodesian ridge back couldn't hold a candle to the havoc she raises.

I wouldn’t let them dry. Put them in a trash bag and take them to the cleaners in the morning.

Should be 100% polyester and usually can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol.  I sold furniture for a long time, you are on the right path for cleaning.  Once dry brush with a stiff brush to fluff.  We used to use sharpies on them the clean with rubbing alcohol and a sponge to demo it.

Why not? I've washed one before when she peed all over it and it didn't shrink.

However, I want to do what is best so I'm open to suggestions.

Nothing to do with shrinkage. It might be harder to get out of microfiber if it’s dry. Can’t hurt to keep it damp until a pro looks at it.

In that situation, I would have to count my blessings. The first blessing I would count would be the fact that it wasn’t me who left the brush where the dog could get it.
