It'll all be good @YukonRon.  We'll cut that sucker out this weekend after numerous bourbon slushies
Heck, save the slushies for the celebration once that thing is cut out.
    Looking forward to seeing y'all.
I was planning on doing it in my Thunder Buddy Romper!

Thank you for the kindness my friend, it is much appreciated, more than you know.
Got a ton of other things that need more attention than this right now, we all do, and with the support network we have, I am sure we will make it.
    I appreciate your words.

Thanks to the fine folks of QC and Dulles, and Sun Country Airlines and their 737 bird "Winona", all named after MN lakes, we're here.

    Gearing up for another mission.

This is absolutely one of those events, that makes your heart swell with pride, because it shows the world there is still much more right with our country and our people, than is wrong. My first experience was a few years ago. Have to admit, my eyes got a little moist.
I did it on my birthday, July 4, and met one of the nurses left behind in the Phillipines on March 11, 1942, while McArthur escaped.
Real American Hero. Captured, and cared for the sick and wounded, nearly starved to death, and survived until liberated.
I can't begin to tell you how unworthy I felt in her presence.
Thanks so much for sharing this Ron, it does make you so proud.  Each life story so special.

One of the Vets on my bus, has a federal agent daughter who lives out here, she walked him to the bus, talked to them for a bit.  Lots of tears today my friend.

At the sugeon's office waiting to review my MRI, hopefully getting good news on my knee.

Thanks Jason and Johnny. Kind of trying to digest the news myself. They found a large mass on the back of my knee. I have to get another MRI, and then depending on what they find, is what I have to deal with. The mass was in contact with nerves and blood vessels. So that is it for now. We will see what happens and deal with it as we move forward. I am ok.

Just seeing this Ron....sending prayers...and some laughs your way.

Thank you Robin. We will be seeing y'all this weekend. We will laugh, I promise.
The kindness shared has been comforting, for sure. Use the prayers for Suzy, and we will all be laughing when this is over. I am fine, I will be ok.
Appreciate the kind words brother. Bringing 3 bags of Slushies. That should get us through, right?

@YukonRon   Sorry to hear that Ron. Hope all your  future visits come with better news, and as clear and easy a path forward as possible.   Prayers going out to you and your family.  Damn this prayer list is getting way too long!

Thank you for the encouraging words. I will be fine, I am sure.
Keep Suzy in your thoughts, if you don't mind......she is still dealing with the loss of her mother and brother, as well as being swamped by her executive, accelerated education course, she is going through, and now this. Poor girl, carrying a lot right now.
We still do not know what we are dealing with, once we do, we will figure out a way to heal.
Your kindness is appreciated, more than you know.

You've got to be kidding me. I was way past anything Wikipedia has to offer. I ended up taking a Dremel and slicing it. Collapsed the key and used a punch to drive the top side in. Had to make a cocktail of transmission fluid and acetone to break it free. PB Blaster and Liquid Wrench wouldn't work.

That is the problem when you use the internet which then shows how to do a task with images and pictures. As soon as any Georgia Tech grad sees them, they try to use crayons to color the monitor.

Not likely to see any foul language offered up in those elementary school how tos, either. Pretty easy and straight forward actually. I hope nobody was there to witness his struggle with a simple woodruff key, that would have been humiliating.

It wasGeorgia Tech right or was I mistaken? I suppose he missed the class; "Simple and Easy Repairs 101". It is my guess we better not ask him to change a light bulb either? (That is taught the second week of the course, after they teach the students how to set up a step ladder during the first week of class).

Just having some fun Michael. Laugh dude. those can be frustrating things to get out.

I have done almost as bad. Not really, no, not even close. ;)

Have to laugh at telling people to use a crow bar to get a pulley off. Untold collateral damage awaits in the wrong hands.

Apparently it's pretty common on Yamaha outboards to have issues with the key. I sanded the new key a little bit and it's got a "just right" fit.

They have a long history of those problems. Fixed a couple myself, years ago (notice term "years ago") before I said "not my expertise" (translation: eff it) and then paid heavily to have it done.
    Because it was worth it.
No longer have a floating money pit, and have not had one in a while. Feeling pretty good about it, too.
Bless you Michael, for doing all of this. Far better man than I. I would have taken that out to the middle of the lake, after 3 hours of messing with the WK, pulled the plugs, and swam to shore.

The bright spot was finding out about the ATF/acetone mix as a penetrating lubricant.

Here are some test results for the engineering crowd out there.

In my teens I changed out my own shocks (w/o an impact tool other than a hammer), my own muffler, never again, I'll pay the pros.  I've also rebuilt my own carbs, that was fun but nothing has carbs anymore.
The last "ARARRRGGHHHH!!!" job I did myself should've been soo simple: move the hinges on the frig door to the other side, (the holes are already drilled), simple right?
    F&%^$@#!!!
Four-and-a-half hours!  Three trips to Lowe's!  Four bandaids!  TWO broken Craftsman ignition wrenches!  The food probably went bad but I was too angry and frustrated to even eat after that.  Gah!
