Day off...went to the local Hispanic market and picked up some marinated chicken. Going to throw it in some stuffed poblanos tonight. Currently binging the new season of House of Cards.

Had a sweet M & P on my doorstep today, was on sale at Amazon for $22.  Nice deep bowl.

Comes with a silicone base plate, scraper, and spoon..not needed, but a nice touch.

Eating on my own tonight, some veg on the grill. Meat free night, a rare occurrence.

Ready to eat. Late tonight as I was outside clearing ready to get a digger in tomorrow. MMX came up trumps for the quick cook.

@Focker, what will you use this for? I don't seem able to grind herbs & spices effectively, so I bought a coffee grinder.

This fellow brought a halt to all landscaping activity this morning.  The workers wouldn't come within 15 feet of him.  Then they doubled that distance when I brought him out into the open.  The guys building the wall found one earlier this spring ... looks like we'll have to be a little more watchful.

4-6 weeks.   I can start putting some weight on my leg but going slow.  I don't recommend blowing out an Achilles if you can avoid it.

Diamondback rattlers would rather be left alone than bother folks.  I don't mind them 'cuz they help keep the rodent population somewhat in check.  Just have to be mindful that they are in the area.

The Mohave rattler is another case 'cuz they do have a tendency towards being aggressive.  Luckily they tend to live higher in the mountains, so we won't shouldn't be finding them in our backyard.

Took advantage of the lack of rain this past weekend and got the vegetable garden planted and mulched the flower beds.  I never imagined it, but I absolutely love walking around my yard barefoot every evening and watering everything.  It's both relaxing and rewarding.

Following the catfish guy story closely in Nashville. This dude has become an instant legend in town and will never pay for a beer again in town. Sorry penguin fans but us southern folk loved it.

    Guac, paste marinades, rubs.
I have a coffee grinder and mini food processor too, but I think this will be nice for the toast and grind small batches.

Thanks to the heads up from @HofstraJet, just placed three orders for the Rutland Firestarters for $4.98 add on special. Already had a list of items that I had been meaning to order, so just thought I would see if it would let me order more than one deal. Just divided the items up and added the deal to each one. I know that sounds like a lot of starters, but since giving the daughter and son-in-law their own egg, I have to keep an eye out for such things.  =)

My vote for Mother of the Year. I am a bad dad, I just tell our son to save the less cruddy paper towels, and stuff them in a ball jar which contains cooking oil. He thinks I am strange. Cheap, yes. Strange? Yeah, he is right.

@YukonRon, I'm not so sure about the Mother of the Year part, lol. I just look it as saving us money in the long run. Nothing at all strange about your method, however, we're all a little strange. Otherwise, we would just be boring. B)

Took the day off from work (entire NIPRNet was down since last Friday, and can't get much else done without a 'pooter) so I'm grilling up a green chile cheeseburger for lunch, yum!
