I pride myself on always reading the instructions, and doing what I'm told.
But, I'm pretty sure Pilsbury Crescent Rolls should be rolled up from the SECOND-longest side of the triangle, not the longest.

Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

@YukonRon - I am quite confident that I have never seen ribs presented in such an elegant setting-definitely way above my pay-grade.  That coupled with the prime rib you have running now-no wonder the fence.  Gotta keep us pedestrians at least at arm's length.  ;)
    Edit:  Happy Thanksgiving!

@pgprescott he's very happy with it! He's always cooked thanksgiving turkey in his kettle. He said this bird was the juiciest one he's ever cooked. I had today with my in-laws, but will be doing thanksgiving round 2 tomorrow with my folks and brother and sisters families! Lucky for him all the knowledge I've built up the last year on the forum and my 4+ years of egging translates seamlessly to the summit :-)

One of the most underrated things from Costco is their pumpkin pie. That thing was delicious, huge and only $5.99.

  • Finally calming down from a new but bad bag of charcoal.  Well known brand but not the charcoals fault.
I cooked a brisket yesterday using it and it was great.  Today I started at 11:00 getting the egg ready for a standing rib roast and dumped in more charcoal from the bag from yesterday.  Took a while to light then sparked for a long time.  I was about to put the Woo on for indirect and happened to smell something like ammonia.  Waited a while and the smell still didn't go away.

Long story short - our neighbors dog has evidently been visiting our garage and likes the charcoal more than I do.  Yesterdays cook was from the top of the bag only and todays was from the middle and bottom where the little sh!t got to it.

Had to start the KJ jr and used another un-stained bag - cost about an hour of time and a lot of scotch.

Just one of life's experiences I guess.  Had a good meal with the family and will clean up outside tomorrow.
Neighbor will be gifted some very special charcoal to try.

I got zero pics, I suck.  Two 14 lb birds this year, one spatched on the egg at 390ish w/coffee rub and ton of fresh sage/Rosemary/thyme butter under the skin, second fried.  Both finished within 5 min. of each other, so I won the timing game.  Two of my best, everyone happy, **** ton of leftovers.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
    Love you bro!

Spent the afternoon with my beautiful Grandmother.  She's a strong widow and 83 years of age and still going strong.  Hugging her and telling her I love her is what the holidays are all about.

Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Eggheads.  Back home and time for a beer or 10.  As one of my fav's on this site says:  Time to enter low earth orbit.

Nice Thanksgiving post my friend, and what its all about.

It's nice, but the video above didn't make me feel I was missing anything.  The 27" kettle is recent for me - I really like it - the smoke profile is more towards that of my stickburner than the egg.

Thinking about starting a Kickstarter campaign for an e-cigarette holster that attaches to your belt, with a large handle and Velcro.  When the e-cigarette explodes into flames you can yank it off and toss quickly.
