Went out with friends tonight, 4 other couples. I tossed out an invite to come over Friday night, figuring maybe 50% would be able to make it. Everyone can come. Maybe it's because I mentioned I was going to make steaks, who knows. So 10 adults, probably around 10-13 kids, for steaks Friday night.

I live in the coolest part of town, actually. There are just some things in a party that needs not to be reported to the local police.

Just set the 14th and last post for my new fence. Let stand for a few days, sunk 4ft deep sitting on 1 foot of gravel, tarred and set with tamped rock and concrete. Posts have a 30 year guarantee. Azz is dragging.

Hope you don't need the warranty!  They only cover material.

Last thing people want to see is a pasty, neon white, fat, old, balding guy in tighty whities. That's why I bring Bourbon Slushies. So people will like me.

That is the problem with being able to cook.  People stop bailing on you ... they bail on the other friends they already made plans with.

Trying to figure out if I'm in the right place.  Anyone else notice all the new people who've come out of the woodwork?

@Hans6. How are you liking the Weber? I know your dads had it for a while now. I love it. Very versatile and impressive right out the box IMO. Lots of in warranted negativity IMO. That unit you show there is every bit equal to an XL in a table with all the fixings.

Since we had turkey on Sunday at my parents' place, decided to egg a ham that has been in my beer fridge. Best by date on it was May 27, 2016. At the last minute decided to do @egret's maple bourbon ham, so the maple injection and paste only had about an hour before going on the egg instead of overnight.

While the egg was coming to temp and clearing the bad smoke, I mixed up something for me.

And now it's on the egg

  • Time for a rest, then off to the in laws.

3.5 hrs 20# no idea what temp, the dome never recovered. Too close to the bird I guess. Not bad for a NGA redneck.

I am using my rub for pork which is SPOG, Brown Sugar, smoked paprika, some chili powder and dehydrated peach.
Turned out pretty good. Smoked the ribs with peach and the chicken legs on the MM with pecan.
Used up all your sauce. That stuff was so righteous, made my cook awesome.
    Thank you so much.
