No comment on the paint scheme but their exhaust sound is right up there with the Harley, just not quite as common on the road. And at a KFC?? Beyond the exhaust sound-no longer offer a stick?? WTF?Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

After driving 14 hours in my buddies truck we reached Knoxville, Tennessee. We unloaded the bikes and everything was going to plan. My buddy forgot to pack some jeans so we had to make a quick stop before hitting the open road. After my friend grabbed some jeans we jumped back on our bikes. After firing up my bike I look down and see my pant leg and boot covered with oil. I than notice my oil cap has somehow come off within the first 6 miles. CRAP! Out of all things that can go missing I manage to lose the one thing that dealers aren't going to carry. Turns out the closest dealer is 232 miles away. I had no other option than make a run to Oxford, Alabama. So I had to go all MacGyver on it for the 232 mile trip. So I came up with a boat plug and some good ole duct tape from Walmart next door. The boat plug was able to close up the circumference of the hole and duct tape to keep it in place. After a few stops and a little adjustments we made it to Alabama. All is good! Crazy how a $6 plastic cap took 3.5 hours and 232 miles. So we're starting a few hundred miles south but should still make it over to the tail of the dragon and the Smokey Mountains and get into North Carolina. Lots of interstate driving today so hopefully some better views tomorrow.

If you screw up your morning routine, just go back to bed.
Gah.
This morning I showered, made breakfast, watched Robin on TV, and got ready to go to work. Today was gym day, so I went for my bag but it wasn't by the door. Gah! I had left it on the bike two days before, with sweaty/wet clothes/towels inside.
I threw the old stuff into the laundry, grabbed fresh, and repacked the bag. Normally I bring it out as I leave the house, but because I hadn't poured a Thermos of tea yet I got out of my usual routine (this is 0615 or so). Took the bag out to the motorcycle and attached, and then realized:
House was locked. Helmet, Thermos, phone and keys were still inside. I had my clean gym clothes outside.
Yay.
When I moved here 20 years ago I had one truck, parked in the center of the carport; I fastened a house key to the inside of a stud in the wall, easy to access but hard to find.
Since getting another car, plus 2 motorcycles, I had to start parking one vehicle against the wall, yeah, against that stud. With no other option, I tried crawling under the truck to reach the key, couldn't fit. I took off my motorcycle jacket (with thick padding) and was able to get closer, but was still 8" or so from the key and I couldn't crawl any closer.
Then, I realized I couldn't squirm back, either! I was pinned between the cement and the Toyota's BRT (big round thing) under the engine. My minor claustrophobia went major, and I panicked. I lightly shat myself.
I finally got out, was actually lifting the truck with my arms to do so, and was sweaty and dirty. It was still dark. I had some quarters in my pocket and walked to the corner gas station, 4 blocks away. Their payphone had been ripped away, and they had no other. I walked back.
My next-door-neighbor, a cop, works the swing shift but is usually up by 7:30, so I grabbed a lawn chair and took a break. He finally appeared, brought over a magnetic retriever-thingie (wish I'd thought of that, I had one) but the key wasn't magnetic. His teenage son, 8" in diameter, came over, he crawled under the front bumper and in 8 seconds had my key! He got kinda dirty, I felt bad about that (will throw on 2 briskets the next weekend for a thank-you).
Called my boss once back in the house and he found much more humor in it all than I did. Cleaned up, threw the clothes and jacket into the wash, bandaged up my hands and went to work.
Tonight I found a different place for my emergency key. You can't park near it.
Gah.
