@Thatgrimguy I understand everything you wrote, and agree with what you did not write, because of the good person you are. Although likely the situation was different, my experience was just awful. Be strong."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

Thanks guys, I'm doing my best to keep my head straight. Been here for 9 hours now. So much loss, so much pain. I just signed a sheet of paper that most likely cost me my career and my home. Time to circle the wagons with your wife and child @Thatgrimguy. They are most important at the end of the day. I totally agree with @Ozzie_Isaac. Character defines a man.

@Thatgrimguy Do what it takes to protect you and yours. That has to be first.
You are a smart man with a lot to offer. You will make it. It will define to you what is important.
I lost everything. I am making it brother, I swear to all that is Holy, I have never been as happy as I am today. I am getting it back.

Sitting here finishing a plate of take out Chinese, watching Star Trek , trying to figure out my current dating situation or lack there of or what it is and how to correct it to where I want it
and how to unwind after being up for now 36 hrs -
We worked a little magic on my friend's grill. She bought this Charbroil "Professional TRU Infrared" gasser. Said she was having issues, food would stick. Upon inspection, found that there were no infrared burners, and they were H burners with a steel infrared like plate over the top. And that she didn't season the CI grates. Let it rip on high for an hr or so, and seasoned the CI grates with some Spray coconut oil onhand. I'm shocked CB can get away with this BS marketing. Anyhoo, always fun diggin' through somebody elses seasoning cabinet, using dull a$$ knives. Makes me appreciate the lab back home. Picked up some strips and ribeyes at Fareway. Kids prepped the taters and green beans. And they wanted Chi steak seasoning on their strips, that they ground finer in a mortar and pestle. The big kids found some Mitchell St Steak Rub from Penzeys.
Half a red onion diced fine, half pound of Fareway slab bacon, and beans in the Wags #8 I gave her. At least she has a good pan.
I think we corrected the sticking issue.
Boy insisted on giving his nonverbal of approval. They love med rare!
My ribeye was slightly thinner, and med well...oh well. Still a damn good meal off a gasser.
Not our first choice in equipment, but enjoyed the challenge of putting out some decent grub with what we had, or didn't have, to work with.

@Focker that is some good looking grub. My bro in law has one of those grills. His is the same as you describe: regular gas burners with stainless plates with small holes that sit between the burner and the grid. I think CB calls them emitter plates. I was impressed with how it cooked. It has nice even heat across the grid, no flare-ups, good grill marks (like those on your steaks) and cooks fast. I think they basically work the same as a set of GrillGrates. I'm not going back to a gasser anytime soon myself, but for someone interested in a gasser it seems pretty nice.
One downside is he said the emitter plates have to be cleaned often for it to operate correctly because all the small holes get clogged. It takes some elbow grease to get them clean.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -

I agree, the emitter plates were a PITA to clean. A brush doesn't go deep enough. Had to use the scraper end and a toothpick to clean them up.
We were planning on taking them off, there are falvorizer bars, like Weber's, above the burners. Forgot to remove the emitter plates before preheat. She will have to try it next time.
You're right, got nice and hot for only two burners. Not bad for a Benjamin. It's a smaller footprint for storing in the garage too.BrandonQuad Cities

Caulking around my draft door has a hole in it. Can I spot seal it, or do I need to remove the whole thing?

@Ozzie_Isaac Thanks. Classic case of over thinking. I used to work as a pool operator and everytime we had to use silicone to reseal a valve, we had to take it apart and seal it from the inside.

RIGHT THE FIRST FOCKIN TIME
Regular type I or II silicone doesn't last long, whether int or ext.
Remove door(not hard), clean egg surface and DD, and use VersaChem Super Clear Silicone Gasket Maker Type 7. You can find it at auto stores.

Used this on a free SS draft door upgrade on my large. Ran a small bead when fastening, then another small bead around it, finished with a fingertip. Has held up fine for the last 3 years. Rated up to 600F FYI.
